Three nights of jazz at the Castello La Grua Talamanca during the holidays
The Carini Jazz Festival is one of the most beloved musical events in the Palermo area. Alongside its historic summer edition in July, it offers a winter edition that enlivens the holiday season. The setting is the evocative Castello La Grua Talamanca, the medieval fortress overlooking the historic center of Carini, in the metropolitan city of Palermo: a place steeped in history and legend that, for a few nights, becomes a refined stage dedicated to jazz.
The winter edition spans three consecutive evenings, with concerts starting at 9:30 PM and free admission. The program is designed to take the audience on a sonic journey starting with Christmas melodies reinterpreted in a jazz style, moving through Latin and Brazilian influences, and closing with a high-energy evening full of interplay and virtuosity.
Promoted by the Municipality of Carini, the festival enhances both the architectural heritage of the castle and the vibrancy of the Sicilian jazz scene, providing a platform for ensembles and soloists to engage with the great international repertoire. The winter edition completes the Carini Jazz Festival's annual offering, which brings prominent names in Italian and European jazz to the same venue throughout the year.
Listening to live jazz in a medieval castle, for free, during the holidays is an experience that combines culture, music, and atmosphere. For those visiting the province of Palermo in winter, the Carini Jazz Festival is the perfect opportunity to discover a charming town and high-quality musical programming.
