The Cardito carnival featuring parade floats and street performers
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Cardito Carnival is the festival that lights up Cardito, a town in the province of Naples, Campania, every winter. Promoted by the municipal administration, the event transforms the town center and especially the greenery of Parco Taglia into a large open-air stage, where masks, colors, and music engage both adults and children over several days of festivities.
The municipal park known as Parco Taglia is the hub of the carnival: along the park's pathways, over twenty papier-mâché figures and dozens of carnival mascots come to life, moving to the rhythm of music. Alongside the park, the main squares and streets, such as Piazza Garibaldi, host roving performances and costume processions.
The typical program features parade floats, circus acts, street performers, stilt walkers, jugglers, clowns, and magic shows. There is no shortage of parades with carnival characters, bubble shows, and baby dance sessions designed for the little ones. In the edition that saw parade floats enter the park for the first time, a true scenic village dedicated to masks was set up.
The Cardito Carnival is designed as a free, family-oriented event: attractions, games, children's workshops, and costume parades for the little ones fill the days, usually from morning until evening. Admission is free and the atmosphere remains that of a genuine village festival, where the community gathers to share in the carnival tradition.
Founded in 2022, the Cardito Carnival has quickly established itself as one of the most anticipated winter events in the town, growing with each edition thanks to the commitment of the Municipality and numerous local volunteer associations, including local civil protection groups and environmental guards. The event is among the initiatives supported to promote the territory of the Metropolitan City of Naples.
Located in the area north of Naples, Cardito is a lively town in Campania that uses this festival to enhance its public spaces and sense of community. The Cardito Carnival offers visitors from neighboring towns and the entire province of Naples an opportunity to experience the magic of carnival as a family, amidst papier-mâché, music, and cheer.
The Cardito Carnival returns to color Cardito, in the province of Naples, with its customary street festival between Parco Taglia and the town center streets. As in previous editions, a program featuring parade floats, papier-mâché figures, street performers, jugglers, stilt walkers, magic shows, and children's entertainment is expected, with free admission.
The dates and detailed program for the 2026 edition have not yet been officially published: it is recommended to check for updates on the Municipality of Cardito's channels before planning your visit.
Activities mainly take place at Parco Taglia (the municipal park of Cardito) and in the town center streets, including Piazza Garibaldi.
