Great music in the most enchanting spots on the island of Capri
The Capri Art Music Festival "Antonino D'Emilio" is one of the most elegant musical events on the island of Capri, in the province of Naples, in the heart of Campania. Promoted by the Municipality of Capri's Department of Culture, the festival offers an annual cycle of concerts ranging from classical music to jazz, opera, and singer-songwriter performances, bringing national and international artists to some of the island's most beautiful vistas. The festival is dedicated to the memory of Antonino D'Emilio, a figure deeply connected to Capri's cultural life.
The heart of the event is the Belvedere di Tragara, a panoramic terrace overlooking the famous Faraglioni and the bay of Marina Piccola: at sunset, the music blends with the light fading over the sea, in a setting that the organizers describe as "a place unique in the world." Alongside Tragara, concerts also animate other historic spaces in the center of Capri, such as the former cathedral of Santo Stefano and the Evangelical Lutheran Church, offering the public intimate and cozy atmospheres.
The 2026 season marks the ninth edition of the festival and confirms the formula that has ensured its success: high-quality concerts, often with free admission, capable of attracting both local enthusiasts and tourists. The program alternates chamber music groups, wind ensembles, and soloists, with a repertoire that combines great classics and more experimental pieces. The artistic direction curates a program designed to showcase both young talents and established names on the musical scene.
Included in the calendar of summer events promoted by the Municipality of Capri, the Capri Art Music Festival represents a precious opportunity to experience the island in a more intimate and cultural way, far from the summer social scene, letting yourself be accompanied by music in places of rare beauty.
The 2026 season, the ninth edition of the festival, offered a rich and varied program, with events between late May and July in the iconic locations of the island of Capri. The festival, promoted by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Capri, featured chamber music groups, wind ensembles, and soloists, ranging from classical repertoire to jazz and singer-songwriter music.
Among the main concerts: the inaugural concert with the ArmoniE Trio and the "Danze in blue" program (music by Gershwin, Morricone, and Rossini); the highly anticipated event on June 14th at the Belvedere di Tragara with Maurizio Di Fulvio on guitar and Simona Capozucco on vocals, with free admission; the Duo Namaste concert dedicated to the double clarinet; and the Pathos Saxophone Quartet with "The saxophone and its colors."
The artistic direction is entrusted to Pinuccio de Gregorio; the organization is managed by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Capri.
Capri can only be reached by sea, with hydrofoils and ferries from Naples (Molo Beverello and Calata Porta di Massa) and from Sorrento. From the port of Marina Grande, you can reach Capri town center by funicular or bus; the Belvedere di Tragara is reachable on foot from the Piazzetta along Via Camerelle and Via Tragara.
Numerous concerts in the series offer free admission subject to availability. It is advisable to check times and access methods for each individual event at the Municipality of Capri.
Concerts at the Belvedere di Tragara generally take place at sunset: arriving early allows you to enjoy both the music and the view of the Faraglioni.
