Cantinar Mangiando

A walk through food, wine, and vineyards

Cantinar Mangiando is the most anticipated food and wine event in Mezzomerico, a small town in the Province of Novara nestled in the greenery at the foot of the first Novara hills, amidst woods and rows of vines. It is a multi-stage food and wine walk: instead of sitting at a table, guests follow a trail on foot through the local area and its wineries, stopping at each station to enjoy a course paired with a specific wine.

How it works

The meeting point is the municipal sports field, from which different groups depart in staggered intervals throughout the morning. Along the route, gourmet stops await: at each station, a traditional Piedmontese or local dish is served, often accompanied by a glass of wine produced by the area's wineries. The menu is available in two versions, with or without wine tastings, and a special option for children, ensuring the day can be enjoyed by the whole family.

The Upper Novara territory

Mezzomerico is part of the hilly area of Novara dedicated to viticulture, where vine cultivation has shaped the landscape for centuries. Walking through the vineyards during Cantinar Mangiando is also a way to discover this corner of Piedmont, which is less known than the Langhe but rich in authentic flavors and rural traditions. The event promotes local producers and fosters a dialogue between gastronomy, the community, and the environment.

An event curated by the Pro Loco

The event is organized by the Pro Loco Mezzomerico, the association that enlivens the town's social life and has grown the event over the years into one of the premier food and wine walks in the Novara region. In recent years, the format has been expanded, doubling the number of dates throughout the season. Participation is by mandatory reservation, and slots, divided by departure time, often sell out well in advance.
