The audience hears the actors' voices exactly as they were recorded, with their native languages, accents, and silences. The program spans all facets of the Cannes Film Festival and is not limited to the main Competition. Each edition features feature films and shorts from:

Who organizes the festival

It is an initiative born to defend the cinema as a place for collective viewing during a time of year—the second week of July—when regular programming thins out and many Roman cinemas close for the summer break.

A tradition spanning over thirty years

With the 2026 edition, the festival reaches its 31st year: a milestone that makes it one of the longest-running events in the Roman film calendar. Over the years, Cannes in Rome Mon Amour has built a loyal audience of cinephiles, students, critics, and curious newcomers who meet every afternoon in the same theater in the Trevi district to discuss what they have just seen.

How it works

The formula is simple and proven: multiple screenings per day, generally from late afternoon until evening, with some titles repeated on different days to allow working professionals to catch them. Tickets are affordably priced, far from the standard rates of major festivals, and pre-sales usually open the day before the start on the Cinema 4 Fontane website. No accreditation or membership cards are required: you enter just like a regular screening.

The neighborhood

The Cinema 4 Fontane is located at the intersection of the Monti and Trevi districts, in one of Rome's most history-dense areas: a few minutes' walk away are the Trevi Fountain, Palazzo Barberini with its National Gallery of Ancient Art, the Borromini-designed Four Fountains, and the Quirinal Palace. An evening at the festival is easily combined with a stroll through the center or dinner at one of the local spots on Via del Boccaccio and Via Rasella.
