Canino EATrusco, wine from the Etruscan Lands in the historic center

Canino EATrusco is a food and wine event that, for two summer evenings, transforms the village of Canino, in the province of Viterbo, into an immersive journey of tastings, flavors, and culture. We are in the heart of Tuscia and the Maremma Lazio region, a land shaped by the Etruscan civilization and, later, by the presence of the Farnese family and Luciano Bonaparte, Prince of Canino. Organized by the Nuova Pro Loco Canino in collaboration with the Municipality of Canino, the festival debuted in 2025 to showcase the region's culinary excellence, starting with the renowned Canino PDO Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Over 30 wineries from the Etruscan Lands

The heart of the event is the tasting trail that winds through the streets and squares of the historic center. Over 30 wineries from the district present wines from the Etruscan Lands, offering visitors a wide range of local labels to discover glass by glass. The oenological journey is paired with a gastronomic selection that blends tradition and innovation: quality street food and modern reinterpretations of typical Canino and Maremma dishes, while live music provides the soundtrack for the entire evening.

The 2026 novelty: Vineyard Dinner in the Square

The highlight of the second edition is the Vineyard Dinner in the Square: for the first time, Piazza Costantino De Andreis will be transformed into an open-air vineyard to host an exclusive dinner under the stars—an intimate and evocative experience that combines the rural charm of the harvest with the elegance of the historic village. A children's menu is also available for 15 euros. To complete the cultural program, a free guided tour titled 'Dining in the Etruscan Lands' is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, tracing the culinary history of the region from the Etruscan era to Luciano Bonaparte and the Farnese family.

A territory of PDO and PGI excellence

Canino EATrusco has its roots in the first edition of 2025, when the event was called Canino in Gusto - Encounters of Flavors and was dedicated to five Lazio specialties: Canino PDO Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Green Asparagus PGI, Pecorino Romano PDO, Romanesco Artichoke PGI, and Roman Lamb PGI, with the support of Arsial. The new name, which plays on the Etruscan heritage, confirms the commitment of the Municipality of Canino and the Lazio Region to showcase their food and wine heritage through an event that brings together producers, restaurateurs, and visitors in the charming setting of the historic center.

Practical information

The event takes place in the historic center of Canino with two entrance points, in Piazza De Andreis and Piazza Vittorio Emanuele III. Evenings begin at 7:00 PM. Reservations are recommended for the Vineyard Dinner in the Square and the guided tour.
