Three days of music, choirs, and Trentino cuisine in the village of Canezza
The Canezza Festival is the major new summer celebration in the village of Canezza, a mountain hamlet sitting at just over 600 meters above sea level. It serves as the gateway to the Pinè Plateau in the municipality of Pergine Valsugana, in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). Organized by the Canezza.it APS Association, led by Marco Osler, the event takes place at the Via per Mala sports and tourism facility in the Giarete area, transforming the community into a vibrant hub of music and conviviality for three days.
Music is the beating heart of the festival, showcased in all its forms. The event kicks off with the In-Canto a primavera choral showcase, which brings together local choirs: the children's and mixed voice sections of the Corale Canezza, the Coro La Valle with its Minicoro, and the Minicoro di Rovereto. It is a moment that celebrates the region's choral traditions and the community's deep-rooted passion for singing.
A true highlight is the Canezza Music Contest, a competition designed to showcase the best musical talent from Trentino and Alto Adige. Artists compete with both covers and original tracks, moving through a pre-selection phase to a final that crowns the winners. The lineup is rounded out by DJ sets, karaoke nights, and entertainment designed for all ages, from children to seniors.
As with any self-respecting community festival, gastronomy plays a starring role. The food stalls serve traditional Trentino cuisine, ranging from first courses to mountain-style main dishes, with a refreshment service available throughout the event. Admission is free, in keeping with the festival's welcoming and grassroots spirit.
