A spring festival in the heart of Sicily

Campofranco in Fiore is the event that, with the arrival of the warmer season, turns the town of Campofranco, in the heart of the Caltanissetta province, into a fragrant and colorful garden. Promoted by the NOVA Campofranco APS Association with the patronage of the Municipality of Campofranco, the festival celebrates nature, horticultural care, and local pride, involving citizens, students, volunteers, exhibitors, and the local Pro Loco in a spirit of great participation.

The gardening market

The commercial heart of the event is the gardening market, set up along the main streets and in Piazza Aldo Moro. Nurserymen, florists, and industry professionals showcase plants, flowers, garden supplies, and equipment, offering visitors the chance to purchase items and receive expert advice. The stalls also feature the "Sapori di Primavera" (Spring Flavors) gastronomic section, a street food experience dedicated to traditional local products.

The "Le Vie in Fiore" competition

One of the most beloved highlights is the "Le Vie in Fiore" (Streets in Bloom) competition, which rewards the most beautiful and well-maintained balconies, alleys, and corners of the town. A jury evaluates the displays based on botanical variety, color harmony, technical care, and plant health, awarding prizes to the participants. It is a practical way to encourage residents to beautify their homes and experience the town as a shared space to be made more welcoming.

Culture, traditions, and activities for everyone

The day is enriched by a historical-monumental guided tour organized by the Campofranco Pro Loco, an itinerary discovering the town's iconic landmarks, and concludes with an exhibition and tasting of the traditional Campofranco bread in the garden of the Sanctuary of San Calogero. For younger visitors, there are educational workshops, while live music from local artists and the final lottery draw complete the festive atmosphere.

A two-part event

Campofranco in Fiore takes place over several days spread between late spring and early summer, extending the festivities and allowing residents and visitors to experience the town on different occasions. The event has established itself as a key identity-building appointment for the local community and an opportunity to discover a village in the Sicilian hinterland, its traditions, and its hospitality.
