Wooden chalets and Dolomite charm at the foot of the Sassolungo

The Campitello di Fassa Christmas Market is one of the most evocative Advent events in the municipality of Campitello di Fassa, located in the Val di Fassa in the heart of the Trentino-Alto Adige Dolomites. Every year, the small mountain village lights up with festive decorations and scents, offering visitors an authentic and cozy Christmas experience, far from the crowds of large city markets.
The market stretches along a path connecting the two village squares, Piaz de Ciampedel and Piaz Veie, where characteristic wooden chalets are set up. Inside, you can discover handmade crafts, wood carvings, gift ideas, artistic creations, and the delicious gastronomic delicacies typical of the Dolomites.
The market is also an invitation to discover the flavors of Ladin and Trentino tradition. Offerings include pretzels filled with speck and Cuor di Fassa cheese, fortaes (traditional spiral fritters), and steaming mulled wine, perfect for warming up while strolling between the chalets.
Visitors are accompanied by festive lights, a large Christmas tree, decorations, and Christmas-themed musical entertainment. A carousel is often available for children, while the majestic backdrop of the Sassolungo makes the winter evenings even more magical.
The Campitello market is part of the Val di Fassa Christmas calendar, which also includes the villages of Moena, Vigo, and Canazei. Organized by the Antermoia Cultural Association, the event is designed for residents and guests choosing the Dolomites for their winter holidays, combining the magic of Christmas with the charm of the mountains.
The official program and dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been published by the organizers. For updates, we recommend checking the Val di Fassa website and the channels of the Antermoia Cultural Association as the holidays approach.
Campitello di Fassa can be reached by car from the A22 Brenner motorway (Egna-Ora or Bolzano Nord exit) by driving up the Val di Fassa along the SS48 Dolomite road. In winter, bus connections are available from the main towns in the valley.
The market takes place during the Advent and holiday period, between December and early January, generally in the afternoon.
Warm clothing is recommended: this is an outdoor market at altitude. There is a wide choice of hotels and apartments in the village and in nearby Val di Fassa towns.
