From the Medici village to the Corte di Musignano: a food and wine walking tour on the Cerreto hills
Cammin di-vino is a food and wine walking tour held in Cerreto Guidi, a small Medici village in the Province of Florence, in the heart of Tuscany. The initiative is organized by the Pro Loco of Cerreto Guidi and is part of the Valdinievole Open Week program, a spring festival that opens the territory to visitors every year with guided tours, excursions, and low-cost or free tastings.
The route starts from the historic center of Cerreto Guidi and unfolds along the Cerreto hills, offering panoramic views of Montalbano. You will walk through woods and vineyards, following trails like the Medici Ring and ancient pilgrimage routes, until you reach the historic Corte di Musignano, a settlement of Roman origin that later became a fiefdom of the Cadolingi and Guidi counts.
The highlight of the experience is the wine tasting at a local farm, accompanied by a light lunch. It is more than just a hike; it is a true narrative of the Cerreto landscape, woven with history, agriculture, and hospitality, where wine serves as the common thread linking the walk and conviviality.
Cerreto Guidi is famous for its Medici Villa, commissioned by Cosimo I de' Medici and now a museum, and for its characteristic village perched on the hill. Cammin di-vino is the ideal opportunity to discover this corner of Tuscany, away from mass tourism, by combining outdoor activity with local culture: in the afternoon, participants can independently visit the Medici Villa, the historic center, and other local attractions.
With its limited numbers (small groups and mandatory booking), Cammin di-vino maintains an intimate and curated character, far from mass events, perfect for those who want to experience the territory calmly and in good company.
