The great rally challenge in the heart of Sicily
The Caltanissetta Rally is the most important motorsport event in central Sicily and one of the most followed rally competitions on the entire island. Organized by the DLF Academy with the support of the Automobile Club Caltanissetta, the race transforms the provincial capital and neighboring towns into a massive open-air circuit every year, attracting drivers, co-drivers, teams, and fans from all over Sicily and the mainland.
The competition winds through the hilly roads of the province of Caltanissetta, in the heart of Sicily, where hairpin bends and long straights put the crews' driving skills to the test. The event's historic special stages are three โ San Cataldo, Santa Caterina, and Caltanissetta โ repeated several times throughout the weekend, for a total that has reached nine timed stages in recent editions. It is a race appreciated for its balance of technical difficulty, speed, and spectacle.
The Caltanissetta Rally is valid as a round of the ACI Sport Zone Rally Cup and the Sicilian Championship, for both modern and historic cars. This dual status attracts high-level crews, with latest-generation Rally2 cars โ such as the ล koda Fabia that dominate the overall standings โ alongside historic cars that always provide great excitement for the public.
Beyond the competition, the rally is a major draw for the city of Caltanissetta: the Service Park, Race Control, and the Press Room are located at the Marco Tomaselli Stadium, while starts, finishes, and regrouping areas bring the city center to life. During the race days, there is no shortage of entertainment, and the influx of visitors fills hotels and local accommodations. For motor enthusiasts, it is an opportunity to experience the spectacle of rallying up close in one of the most evocative areas of inland Sicily.
