Wine tastings from south-east Sicily and live music in the seaside village of Punta Secca

Calici sotto le Stelle is one of the most anticipated food and wine evenings of the summer in the Ragusa province. The event takes place in Punta Secca, a charming seaside village and district of Santa Croce Camerina, Sicily. Every year, it celebrates the night of San Lorenzo by transforming the squares overlooking the sea into a vast open-air tasting trail.
At the heart of the event is a selection of the finest wineries from south-east Sicily, showcasing their most representative labels. Alongside the wine glasses, stands dedicated to local products offer tastings of regional gastronomy: pane cunzato, arancini, traditional sweets, honey, cheeses, and Iblean specialties. The format is simple and convivial: for a small contribution, visitors receive a glass and a set of tasting vouchers to enjoy while strolling through the village squares.
The evening is brought to life by street bands that roam the streets of Punta Secca, filling the air with live music and joy. The setting is the unmistakable village made famous by television series filmed on the Iblean coast, with its lighthouse, stone houses, and the sea as a backdrop. The coincidence with the night of San Lorenzo adds the magic of shooting stars to the tasting experience.
Calici sotto le Stelle is promoted by the Municipality of Santa Croce Camerina and is part of the broader "Enjoy Barocco Summer Fest" program, funded by GAL Terra Barocca as part of sustainable tourism development projects. The event helps promote the village of Punta Secca and the wine and food production of south-eastern Sicily by connecting wineries, farms, and local restaurants.
The dates for the 2026 edition of Calici sotto le Stelle in Punta Secca have not yet been announced. The food and wine evening usually takes place on the night of San Lorenzo, around August 10th, in the seaside village of Santa Croce Camerina, in the province of Ragusa.
