This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
In the heart of western Sicily, the village of Calatafimi Segesta (province of Trapani) celebrates Carnival with the "Calatafimi between Masks and Flavors" event, which transforms the historic center into a stage of color, music, and cheer. The initiative is part of the Festivalando program, promoted by the municipal administration and supported by regional funding.
The stars of the festival are the students of the "F. Vivona" Comprehensive Institute and numerous dance groups, who parade in costume along the village's main streets with spectacular performances. A dedicated area for children provides entertainment and masked activities, designed to engage kids and families alike.
Along the parade route, various street food stalls offer the chance to savor the delights of traditional Sicilian and Carnival gastronomy: from typical sweets to savory dishes, it is an opportunity to discover the authentic flavors of the island in a festive, popular atmosphere.
The event is organized by the BreathSicily Association, in coordination with the municipal administration of Calatafimi Segesta. It is an appointment that highlights the Trapani village and its community, combining the Carnival tradition with the promotion of local specialties. Admission is free and the event is open to visitors of all ages.
At the moment, the Municipality of Calatafimi Segesta and the BreathSicily Association have not yet released the official dates and program for the 2026 Carnival. Based on previous editions, the "Calatafimi between Masks and Flavors" event is expected to return during the Carnival season, featuring masked parades, dance groups, children's entertainment, and street food stalls in the historic center. The detailed program will be announced by the organizers closer to the event.
