The Casapesenna food and wine festival celebrating bufalotto meat and Asprinio d'Aversa DOC wine
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Bufalotto and Asprinio Wine Festival is one of the most deeply rooted food and wine events in Casapesenna, a small town in the Aversa area of the Caserta province, in Campania. Created to showcase the typical products of the plains between the Volturno river and Aversa, the festival has grown with each edition to become a highly anticipated summer event, filling the town's streets and squares with visitors from across the province.
The heart of the festival lies in two local excellences. Bufalotto meatโthe meat of young buffalo raised in the famous Campanian buffalo supply chainโis featured at the stalls in many preparations: stews, meatballs, burgers, gourmet sandwiches, and traditional peasant dishes, ranging from classic recipes to more creative reinterpretations. It is paired with Asprinio d'Aversa DOC wine, a fresh, light, and lively white wine, historically grown on the spectacular "alberate aversane," the towering vines married to poplar trees that define the agricultural landscape of this area.
For several evenings, the festival brings Casapesenna to life with a program that blends fine dining and entertainment. Alongside the food stalls open every night, there are guided tastings of Asprinio with producers and experts, pairings with local cheeses and Campanian wines, taste workshops, and culinary demonstrations.
More than just a village fair, the festival is a way to share the agricultural identity of this corner of Campania and to promote products that are part of the Caserta region's gastronomic heritage. The Pro Loco and local organizations host the event with the goal of promoting the territory, supporting producers, and offering visitors an authentic experience filled with bold flavors, good wine, and conviviality. It is the ideal opportunity to discover Casapesenna and the food and wine traditions of the Aversa area.
At the moment, no official program has been published for the 2026 edition of the Bufalotto and Asprinio Wine Festival in Casapesenna. Following previous editions, the festival is expected to feature food stalls serving bufalotto, tastings of Asprinio d'Aversa DOC wine, live music, craft markets, and family entertainment. We recommend checking dates and details directly with the Casapesenna Pro Loco and the municipality's channels.
The festival takes place in the town center of Casapesenna (ZIP 81030), in the province of Caserta, within the Aversa area.
By car: Casapesenna is accessible from the Asse Mediano highway exit and the provincial roads connecting Aversa and San Cipriano d'Aversa. By train: the most convenient station is Aversa, served by the line to Naples, with connections via bus or taxi.
Access to the festival area is generally free; dishes and tastings are paid for at individual stalls. We recommend checking the updated dates and program with the Casapesenna Pro Loco before traveling.
