The food and wine itinerary of Trentino wines at the San Gregorio Convent
BorgoVino is the food and wine event celebrating local wines and typical Trentino products in Condino, a district of the municipality of Borgo Chiese, in the heart of the Giudicarie Valleys, in Trentino-Alto Adige. Established in 2016 through the collaboration between the Pro Loco of Condino and the municipal administration, the festival is designed as a true food and wine itinerary, focused on mindful tasting and the promotion of mountain wines.
After a few years of suspension, BorgoVino has been reborn in the splendid setting of the San Gregorio Convent, a historic 18th-century Capuchin complex overlooking the Rio Cron. Damaged during the world wars and restored over the years, the convent offers large indoor and outdoor spaces, with terraces and gardens that host the winery stands and food stalls, offering visitors an intimate and evocative atmosphere.
The heart of the event is the tasting trail, which brings together numerous Trentino wineries and various points dedicated to local gastronomy. Alongside glasses of wine, visitors can savor traditional mountain dishes, from the polenta carbonera prepared by the Alpini to local specialties.
BorgoVino is not just about wine: the program includes urban trekking through the churches and squares of Condino, guided tours of the convent, a technical conference on the future of Trentino viticulture, and the impromptu painting competition "Il Borgo e il Vino". Family activities, organized by local associations, and the Sunday Holy Mass accompanied by the Giuseppe Verdi Band complete a weekend that puts the Chiese Valley community at the center.
With its return to the San Gregorio Convent, BorgoVino confirms itself as a defining event for Condino and the entire Chiese Valley, capable of enhancing the viticultural, cultural, and landscape heritage of this corner of Trentino, involving residents, families, young people, and tourists.
The 2026 edition of BorgoVino brought the Trentino wine festival back to the setting of the San Gregorio Convent in Condino, attracting approximately 2,000 visitors along the food and wine trail. The program opened on Saturday, June 13, with the "Condino, between Parish and Convent" urban trekking tour departing from Piazza San Rocco, guided tours of the convent, and, at 4:00 PM, the conference "Roots, visions, and the future of Trentino viticulture" with producers and industry experts. From 6:00 PM, the tasting trail began with 35 stands featuring wineries and gastronomy, followed by dinner with live music and DJ sets. On Sunday, June 14, after the Holy Mass accompanied by the Giuseppe Verdi Band, lunch featured the Alpini's polenta carbonera and the awards ceremony for the first "Il Borgo e il Vino" impromptu painting competition, won by Donato Ciceri from Orsenigo out of 13 competing works.
Throughout the event: entertainment and activities for children organized by AVIS of Condino.
