Three evenings of wine, food, and music in the Municipal Villa of the ceramics village
Borgo diVino in tour is the traveling food and wine festival that crosses the peninsula every year, stopping in the historic centers belonging to the I Borghi più belli d'Italia (The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy) association. In Vietri sul Mare, a municipality in the Province of Salerno in Campania, this event has become a well-established tradition: the 2026 edition is the sixth consecutive one hosted by the village and the twelfth stop of the national tour. The formula is simple and proven: tasting stands, producers present in person, local cuisine, and live music, in a setting that combines wine culture with the beauty of the location.
The event takes place in the Municipal Villa on Via Enrico de Marinis, the public garden overlooking the gulf that represents one of the most beloved panoramic viewpoints in the town. Summer evenings are pleasant here: the breeze rises from the sea, the Vietri majolica tiles color the surrounding facades, and the winery stands are arranged along the pathways. It is an intimate space that allows you to move from one producer to another without haste and chat directly with the people who make the wine.
The heart of the festival is the tasting stands: more than thirty wineries with over one hundred labels, with a strong presence from Campania alongside producers from Piedmont, Veneto, Friuli, Tuscany, Lazio, Abruzzo, Basilicata, Puglia, and Sicily. Alongside the great classics, there is room for native grape varieties little known to the general public, which can be tasted and compared here on the same evening. An educational path with over twenty panels accompanies the visitor along the route and explains in an accessible way the pairings between food and wine, the recommended glasses for each type, serving temperatures, and the main Italian wine-growing areas.
The gastronomic area offers dishes to be purchased separately at the stands. The selection brings together local tradition and some guest specialties: pizza a portafoglio (folded pizza), cuoppo di mare (fried seafood cone), mixed cold cut platters, fried foods, stuffed Roman pinsa, and traditional Roman pasta dishes. Nothing elaborate: well-made street food designed to accompany the glasses without weighing down the evening.
Each evening has its own musical accompaniment, with a repertoire that ranges from Italian and Neapolitan classics to international standards and live saxophone sets. The music deliberately remains in the background compared to the tasting: it serves to create an atmosphere, not to turn the Municipal Villa into a concert.
As the first of the Amalfi Coast villages when arriving from Salerno, Vietri sul Mare is known throughout the world for its artistic ceramics, documented as early as the Middle Ages and which has become the collective identity of the town: plates, tiles, and majolica-covered domes mark the urban landscape, from the church of San Giovanni Battista to the workshops in the center. Participating in Borgo diVino here therefore means combining two experiences: the discovery of Italian wines and a walk through one of the most photographed villages in Campania, with the Vietri marina and the Crestarella sea stacks just a few steps away.
The festival is promoted by the I Borghi più belli d'Italia association and organized by Valica S.p.A., with the support of local institutional partners including the Salerno Chamber of Commerce and Confagricoltura.
From Friday, July 10 to Sunday, July 12, 2026, the Municipal Villa of Vietri sul Mare hosted the twelfth stop of the national tour, for the sixth consecutive year in the Salerno municipality. Opening hours were set for every evening from 7:00 PM to 12:30 AM, with free admission to the exhibition area.
Over one hundred labels were available for tasting, offered by more than thirty wineries: the large Campanian representation was joined by producers from Piedmont, Veneto, Friuli, Tuscany, Lazio, Abruzzo, Basilicata, Puglia, and Sicily. The 20-euro voucher entitled holders to eight tastings of their choice from the stands present, with a professional glass and a 2-euro deposit returned upon its return.
Alongside the stands, the gastronomic area offered pizza a portafoglio, cuoppo di mare, cold cut platters, fried foods, stuffed Roman pinsa, and traditional Roman first courses, all to be purchased separately. An educational path with over twenty panels explained pairings, glasses, serving temperatures, and Italian wine-growing areas.

By car: Take the Vietri sul Mare exit on the A3 Naples-Salerno motorway, then follow signs for the center. On summer weekends, parking in town is limited: it is advisable to arrive early or use the parking lots in Salerno and return by bus.
By train: Salerno station (about 3 km away), connected to Vietri by urban and suburban bus lines.
By bus: SITA Sud buses along the Amalfi Coast stop in Vietri sul Mare.
Tasting stands open in the evening, approximately from 7:00 PM until late at night.
Free admission to the event area. The tasting voucher (eight tastings of your choice) can be purchased online on the official website or directly on-site; a small deposit is required for the glass, which is returned upon its return. Food is paid for separately at the stands.
July evenings on the coast are mild but breezy: a light shirt is sufficient. Those who want to extend their visit can combine the tasting with a walk through the ceramics workshops in the historic center, which are open until late in the evening during the high season.
