About Borgo dei Cappuccini Festival

Every year in early July, the Cappuccini district comes alive for the longest-running and most popular neighborhood festival in Susa, in the Susa Valley. Enjoy four free evenings filled with live concerts, dance orchestras, DJ sets, a funfair for the little ones, and the legendary food stalls famous for their grilled specialties and draft beer. For over thirty years, this event has brought together families and visitors from across the valley in a convivial, authentic Piedmontese atmosphere.

The neighborhood festival that defines the Susa summer

The Borgo dei Cappuccini Festival is one of the most anticipated events of the summer in Susa, a city in the Susa Valley within the Metropolitan City of Turin, in the heart of Piedmont. Established in the early 1990s, the event is organized by the Borgo dei Cappuccini committee with the patronage of the Municipality of Susa. It has become a classic of the city's summer calendar, drawing thousands of people from across the valley every year.

A neighborhood tradition

The Borgo dei Cappuccini is one of Susa's historic districts and, true to the tradition of Piedmontese neighborhood festivals, it transforms into a large open-air party every summer. The district is especially famous for its grilling mastery: the food stalls, open every evening from 8:00 PM, serve arrosticini, mixed grills, burgers, and sandwiches, all paired with ice-cold beer in a cheerful, family-friendly setting. Admission has always been completely free.

Music, funfairs, and books

The heart of the festival is live music: each evening features a different concert or show, ranging from traditional dance orchestras to cover and tribute bands, and DJ sets that keep the party going late into the night. For children and families, there is a funfair with rides and attractions that animate the entire area. Over the years, the festival has also hosted the Panassi Book Fair, featuring stalls with books for all ages, highlighting the event's cultural vocation alongside its gastronomic appeal.

Why it's worth visiting

  • Four free evenings of music, food, and entertainment
  • Food stalls renowned for their grilled dishes and draft beer
  • Funfair for children and families
