Summer Ignites in Bonzicco

In June, the hamlet of Bonzicco — in Dignano, in the hilly Friuli region — welcomes the arrival of summer with its village festival. The Festa di Inizio Estate in Piazza lasts a whole week and offers a program designed for all ages, featuring music, sports, nature, and good food.

The Flavours of the Village

The star of the food stalls is the frico of Bonzicco, a local version of the iconic Friulian dish, accompanied by mixed grills, draft beer, and local wines. Authentic cuisine served in a festive atmosphere, with communal tables and fun.

Music, Fishing, and Nature

Evenings alternate between DJ sets, band concerts, and pop-rock nights with dancing under the stars. During the day, there's space for the fishing competition for members, nature walks to discover the area's sinkholes, cheesemaking demonstrations ("Il Cjantòn dal Casaro"), and entertainment for children with face painting and games.

A Community Celebration

Promoted by the Pro Loco of Bonzicco with the support of the Municipality of Dignano, the festival is a gathering occasion for the village and visitors from the surrounding area: an authentic way to experience the start of summer in the hilly Friuli region.
