About Bondiola Festival

On May 1st, Ariano nel Polesine celebrates its most beloved cured meat with the Festa della Bondiola. In the square behind the Parish Church, volunteers prepare the bondiola, a typical cured meat from Polesine, served with mashed potatoes and other products from the Po Delta. A genuine village festival, organized by the Pro Loco together with AVIS, AIDO, and local volunteer associations: the proceeds are donated to charity.

The bondiola, queen of the Polesine table

In the heart of the Po Delta Park, in Ariano nel Polesine (province of Rovigo), the Festa della Bondiola celebrates one of the most representative products of the local cuisine. The bondiola (or bondola) is a typical cooked cured meat from Polesine, served hot, to be enjoyed in its classic version accompanied by mashed potatoes.

A festival born from volunteering

The event takes place on May 1st in the square behind the Parish Church, in the center of the village. What makes it special is the spirit that animates it: the Pro Loco Ariano nel Polesine organizes the festival in collaboration with AVIS, AIDO, and other volunteer associations, and the entire proceeds are donated to charity. Eating well here also means doing good.

Flavors of the Delta

In addition to the bondiola, rigorously prepared on the spot, the festival offers other typical products from the Po Delta, in a convivial atmosphere that attracts families and visitors from neighboring towns. It is the ideal opportunity for those who want to discover the authentic gastronomy of Polesine and, at the same time, support local charitable initiatives.
