About Carmine Festival

Every July, Taglio di Po dresses up for the Festival of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the most important event of the year: about ten days with stalls, a funfair, a food stand, lotteries with rich prizes, and musical performances. The spiritual heart of the festival is the celebration on July 16th in honor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, around which a tradition deeply felt by the Po Delta community revolves.

The festival of the Taglio di Po summer

The Festival of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, known simply as the Carmine Festival, is the most anticipated event of the year in Taglio di Po, a municipality in the province of Rovigo in the Po Delta. It takes place in July in the historic center—between Via Dante, Piazza Venezia, and Piazza IV Novembre—and spans about ten days.

Stalls, funfair, and gastronomy

The festival enlivens the town with stalls, a large funfair, and the food stand open on weekends with traditional dishes. The lotteries are unmissable, with rich prizes awarded over several evenings—in recent years, even cars have been up for grabs—which attract a large audience until the final draw.

Between celebration and devotion

Alongside the festive dimension, the Carmine Festival retains a strong religious connection: on July 16th, the Blessed Virgin of Mount Carmel is celebrated, the spiritual heart of the entire event. Organized by the Pro Loco Taglio di Po together with the Municipality, the festival combines tradition, faith, and fun, confirming itself as the major summer event for the Taglio di Po community.
