Three nights of blues and soul in the main square of Capaci
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Blues and Soul Festival is a summer music event held in Capaci, a town in the province of Palermo overlooking the Sicilian gulf, in the central Piazza Antonio Cataldo. The festival is dedicated to two genres that have defined 20th-century music history: blues and soul, presented through performances that weave together traditional roots and contemporary sensibilities.
The soul of the festival is Daria Biancardi, a seasoned singer from Palermo who serves as the event's patron, artistic director, and host for all three nights. Her constant presence on stage guides the audience through the performances, adding warmth and continuity to a program built around voice and groove. The selection of artists favors musicians who embody the authenticity of the genre, including performers with international recognition.
The festival takes place outdoors, in a square that transforms for three nights into an open-air stage for blues and soul enthusiasts. Admission is free, a choice that makes high-quality music accessible to all residents and the many vacationers on the Palermo coast in August. The event is produced by Gianfabry Production and is supported by the Regional Department of Cultural Heritage and Sicilian Identity of the Sicilian Region and the Municipality of Capaci.
Located a few kilometers west of Palermo, Capaci is known for its seaside location and vibrant summer season. The municipal administration hopes that the Blues and Soul Festival will become a permanent fixture in the local cultural calendar, enriching the event offerings of Western Sicily with a niche yet high-quality musical proposal.
The 2026 edition of the Blues and Soul Festival has not yet been officially confirmed with specific dates and a program. Building on the successful 2025 debut, the organizers and the Municipality of Capaci hope to repeat the event during the summer, presumably in August in Piazza Antonio Cataldo. Information will be updated as soon as the organizers announce the official calendar.
Capaci can be reached by car via the A29 Palermo-Mazara del Vallo motorway (Capaci exit) or via the coastal state road. The Capaci train station is served by the regional Palermo-Trapani line. The nearest airport is Falcone-Borsellino in Punta Raisi, just a few kilometers away.
Admission to the evenings is free. The shows take place in Piazza Antonio Cataldo, generally starting at 9:30 PM. It is recommended to check the updated dates and program before traveling.
