The ultimate summer of live music at the Velodromo and Teatro di Verdura
Wave Summer Music is a traveling music festival that crosses Sicily every summer, visiting some of the most evocative cities in the Mediterranean. Promoted by Giuseppe Rapisarda Management, the festival distributes its evenings between Palermo, Catania, Syracuse, Taormina, and Venice, building a lineup capable of uniting different generations and genres, from singer-songwriter pop to rap, and from light music to contemporary urban.
In Palermo, in the heart of Sicily, the festival finds its home in two iconic venues: the Velodromo Paolo Borsellino, a large open-air arena dedicated to the most crowded concerts, and the historic Teatro di Verdura, a refined setting nestled in the greenery of Villa Castelnuovo for more intimate, singer-songwriter evenings.
The Velodromo hosts the most high-energy nights, with its large capacity allowing it to welcome thousands of spectators under the Palermitan summer sky. The Teatro di Verdura, on the other hand, offers a more evocative and theatrical atmosphere, perfect for the great interpreters of Italian song. This dual soul makes the Palermo stage of Wave Summer Music one of the richest in the entire Sicilian circuit.
Over the years, Wave Summer Music has become one of the key events of the musical summer in Sicily, capable of bringing top national artists to the island. The traveling format allows the public from all over the region to experience concerts by their favorite artists without leaving Sicily, while the excellent response in pre-sales—with tens of thousands of tickets sold—testifies to the festival's deep roots among the local audience.
Palermo, the capital of the Sicilian Region, boasts a long tradition of major open-air musical events. The city's summer comes alive with concerts, festivals, and shows, and Wave Summer Music fits into this excitement as one of the most anticipated hubs, bringing the great names of Italian music just a stone's throw from the sea and the city's historic center.
The 2026 edition of Wave Summer Music confirms Palermo as one of the main stops of the traveling festival, with concerts distributed between the Velodromo Paolo Borsellino and the Teatro di Verdura. The Palermo lineup ranges from pop to rap, from urban to singer-songwriter music, featuring some of the most followed names on the national scene.
The evenings at the Velodromo will feature Modà (July 24), Luchè (July 30), Alfa (July 31), Sfera Ebbasta (August 1), Anna (August 7), Salmo (August 11), and Tony Boy (August 27). Closing the Palermo season on September 17 is Gianni Morandi at the Teatro di Verdura.
With over 30,000 tickets sold in pre-sales across the festival's entire Sicilian circuit, the 2026 edition promises to be one of the most anticipated events of the island's musical summer.
The Velodromo Paolo Borsellino is located in the Favorita area, north of Palermo's city center, and is accessible by car and public transport. The Teatro di Verdura is located on Viale del Fante, inside Villa Castelnuovo. Visitors arriving from outside the city can use the Palermo-Punta Raisi airport and the central train station, both well-connected to the center.
Tickets are available online and at authorized sales points (TicketOne, Box Office Sicilia, Il Botteghino). We recommend purchasing in advance: many evenings sell out well ahead of time.
As these are open-air concerts in the height of summer, we recommend comfortable clothing and suggest checking the gate opening times on the official website.
