The blue gem of the Po Valley in Martiniana Po, in the heart of the Cuneo area
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
In Martiniana Po, a small town in the Province of Cuneo nestled at the foot of Monviso in the heart of the Po Valley, the blueberry is more than just a fruit: it is a symbol of local identity. The Blueberry Fair was created precisely to celebrate this excellence, in a region where the cultivation of blueberries, raspberries, currants, and gooseberries represents a consolidated and constantly growing tradition. It is no coincidence that the village is known as "the village of small fruits."
For an entire day, usually on a Sunday, the Town Hall square and the streets of the center transform into a large open-air market. You will find mountain markets, local producer stalls, craft exhibitors, and regional specialties. Wild blueberries are everywhere: fresh, in jams, in desserts, in juices, and in traditional valley recipes. It is the perfect opportunity to buy directly from the growers and discover the small fruit supply chain of the Saluzzo area.
The heart of the event, during the editions of the Small Fruits, Good Taste and Wellness Festival, is the "Best Blueberry" competition, open to all blueberry producers in the Province of Cuneo. The samples are anonymized by the Municipality and evaluated through sensory analysis by O.N.A.Frut tasters, supported by Coldiretti and the 4A Agency. The winner is announced in the square in front of the Town Hall and awarded a gold prize.
Beyond the gastronomic aspect, the festival is an invitation to discover Martiniana Po and its heritage: the Baroque Palazzo Filippa, the 18th-century Parish Church of Sant'Andrea, and the views of the "King of Stone," Monviso. In recent years, the event has been linked to the MirtilliAmo initiative, shared with the neighboring town of Revello, to jointly promote the "blue gem" of the Po Valley with walks, tastings, and wellness moments. An authentic event, far from mass tourism, ideal for those seeking the true flavors of the Piedmontese mountains.
The 2026 Blueberry Fair in Martiniana Po (CN) is announced for Sunday, June 14, 2026, as a day entirely dedicated to wild blueberries, mountain markets, and the typical flavors of the Po Valley.
At the moment, the date is reported by Piedmont event calendar sources and has not yet been officially confirmed by the Municipality of Martiniana Po; it is advisable to check the details on the municipal website before planning your visit.
