The craft beer festival in the historic alleys of San Giorgio Ionico
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Birra & Vicoli is the craft beer festival that, every year towards the end of summer, fills the alleys of the historic center of San Giorgio Ionicoโa town in the province of Taranto, Pugliaโwith life. Starting as a small neighborhood gathering, the event has grown with each edition to become one of the most anticipated dates on the local calendar, drawing visitors from across the Taranto area.
For one night, the narrow streets and small squares of the old town turn into a long itinerary of taste and celebration. Along the route, you will find a variety of craft beer stands, food stalls offering street food and gluten-free options, and several areas dedicated to live music. The atmosphere is that of a quintessential Puglian village festival: colors, lights, aromas, and crowds strolling through the winding alleys.
The Birra & Vicoli formula blends different forms of expression into a single evening. Alongside concerts and tribute bands, there are spaces dedicated to folk music and traditional dances, entertainment for children with baby dance and games, motorcycle exhibitions organized by local clubs, and art exhibitions by local artists set up along the route. It is a mix of music, food, craft beer, motors, culture, and art that has always defined the event.
Birra & Vicoli offers free admission: you only pay for what you consume at the beer and food stands. It is an event designed for families, young people, and craft beer enthusiasts, and it also serves as a great opportunity to rediscover the historic center of San Giorgio Ionico and its local businesses.
The festival is organized by ARCI Bounty Club SGJ in collaboration with the Pro Loco of San Giorgio Ionico and other local associations, with the involvement of local cultural and sports groups.
The dates for the 2026 edition of Birra & Vicoli have not yet been announced. Based on previous years, the festival is expected to return to the alleys of the historic center of San Giorgio Ionico at the end of summer.
