About Birra & Vicoli

Birra & Vicoli is the craft beer festival that brings the historic center of San Giorgio Ionico, in the province of Taranto, to life every late summer. Now in its sixth edition as of 2025, the event transforms the village's narrow streets into a vibrant trail of food stalls, craft beer taps, live music across multiple stages, motorcycle displays, and art exhibitions by local artists. Admission is free, and the evening is designed for the whole family.

Birra & Vicoli in San Giorgio Ionico

Birra & Vicoli is the craft beer festival that, every year towards the end of summer, fills the alleys of the historic center of San Giorgio Ionicoโ€”a town in the province of Taranto, Pugliaโ€”with life. Starting as a small neighborhood gathering, the event has grown with each edition to become one of the most anticipated dates on the local calendar, drawing visitors from across the Taranto area.

A journey through beer, food, and music

For one night, the narrow streets and small squares of the old town turn into a long itinerary of taste and celebration. Along the route, you will find a variety of craft beer stands, food stalls offering street food and gluten-free options, and several areas dedicated to live music. The atmosphere is that of a quintessential Puglian village festival: colors, lights, aromas, and crowds strolling through the winding alleys.

Music, motors, and art

The Birra & Vicoli formula blends different forms of expression into a single evening. Alongside concerts and tribute bands, there are spaces dedicated to folk music and traditional dances, entertainment for children with baby dance and games, motorcycle exhibitions organized by local clubs, and art exhibitions by local artists set up along the route. It is a mix of music, food, craft beer, motors, culture, and art that has always defined the event.

A free event for everyone

Birra & Vicoli offers free admission: you only pay for what you consume at the beer and food stands. It is an event designed for families, young people, and craft beer enthusiasts, and it also serves as a great opportunity to rediscover the historic center of San Giorgio Ionico and its local businesses.

Organizers

The festival is organized by ARCI Bounty Club SGJ in collaboration with the Pro Loco of San Giorgio Ionico and other local associations, with the involvement of local cultural and sports groups.
