Every year, at the beginning of June, Margherita di Savoia becomes a meeting point for bikers from Southern Italy with Bikers in the Salt, a motorcycle rally organized by the Flamingo Riders motorcycle club. It is more than just a bike meet; it is a day that weaves together a passion for motorbikes, solidarity, music, and love for the local area, set against one of Puglia's most evocative natural backdrops: the town's famous salt pans, the largest in Europe.
Engines, friendship, and freedom
Each edition attracts hundreds of enthusiasts arriving not only from the Barletta-Andria-Trani province but also from Basilicata, Calabria, and Lazio. The heart of the event is the motorcycle tour that departs from Piazza Generale Dalla Chiesa and winds through the town streets and the unique landscape of the salt pans—a long, roaring snake of chrome and engines that colors the afternoon in Margherita. Upon returning to the square, the traditional blessing of the helmets takes place, followed by a commemorative moment for fallen riders, accompanied by a striking smoke display.
Solidarity and local roots
Bikers in the Salt never forgets its charitable side: the morning opens with the AVIS blood donation mobile unit, a concrete gesture that has always been part of the rally. The event is made possible through the collaboration between Flamingo Riders, Cuori in Moto di Barletta, Salt Bikers, and the Pro Loco of Margherita di Savoia, with the patronage of the municipal administration and the support of local law enforcement, who provide stands dedicated to road safety and legality.
Music, shows, and local flavors
The afternoon and evening are brought to life by live music and performances: DJ sets, local bands, tribute concerts, circus acts, and entertainment for children, not to mention the pin-up contest and exhibition stands. Local restaurants offer special menus featuring regional culinary specialties, making the festival a perfect opportunity to discover the flavors of Margherita di Savoia and Northern Puglia.
Bikers in the Salt — edition 2026
The third edition of Bikers in the Salt exceeded all expectations, bringing over 350 motorcyclists from Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria, and Lazio to Margherita di Savoia. The rally combined engines, solidarity, and local promotion, with a motorcycle tour that crossed the largest salt pans in Europe. There were also moments of reflection, such as the smoke display in memory of fallen riders and the blessing of the helmets, alongside the music and shows that enlivened Piazza Generale Dalla Chiesa until late in the evening.

Saturday, June 6, 2026
- 08:00 - 11:00 — AVIS mobile blood unit in Piazza Generale Dalla Chiesa: blood donation in collaboration with the local section
- Noon — Lunch at participating restaurants with set menus
- 17:00 — Departure of the motorcycle tour through the town streets and the Salt Pans of Margherita di Savoia, among the largest in Europe
- Upon return to the square — Blessing of the helmets officiated by Father Michele Schiavone and commemorative smoke display in memory of fallen riders
- 18:00 - 21:00 — Musical entertainment with DJ sets by Dj Biga and Dj Bobby with vocalist Lucia Martire, performance by the band Friskys, and final concert by Destinazione 90 (90s tribute)
Throughout the day: circus acts with MoneMone, children's entertainment with Zuccherosa, sound war, pin-up contest, and exhibition stands. Information stands from the local police, Carabinieri, and State Police were present, dedicated to road safety and legality.

Margherita di Savoia can be reached via the SS16 Adriatica road; the nearest train stations are Barletta and Trinitapoli-San Ferdinando. For those arriving by motorcycle, we recommend arriving in the morning to enjoy the full day of activities.
