About Bicitour Terre d'Argine
A ride along the embankments of the Modena plain
The Bicitour delle Terre d'Argine is a non-competitive cycling event that takes place in the territory of the Union of Terre d'Argine, in the province of Modena (Emilia-Romagna). The initiative connects the four municipalities of the Union — Campogalliano, Soliera, Novi di Modena, and Carpi — in a cycling loop that winds along urban and extra-urban roads, through the embankments, the countryside, and the historic centers of the lower plain.
Start and finish at the Curiel Lakes
The meeting point is the Casa Berselli, at the Curiel Lakes in Campogalliano, on Via Albone. This is a natural area overlooking the Secchia River flood basin, now the heart of a season of sports, nature, and wellness events that animate the territory from April to September. The ride starts here and ends here, with a small refreshment offered to participants.
Gentle mobility and discovery of the territory
Created to promote sustainable mobility, social interaction, and direct contact with nature and local communities, the event is designed for everyone: experienced cyclists, families, and groups of friends. It is possible to complete the entire loop or just some partial sections between two or more municipalities. Along the route, there are stops for stamping the Tour passport and small refreshment points in the towns crossed.
An event of the Union of Terre d'Argine
The Bicitour is organized by the Union of Terre d'Argine together with the four partner municipalities and FIAB Modena (Carpi section), in collaboration with the Modena in Bici network. Each edition proposes a theme that links the ride to the memory and culture of the Modena territory, transforming a day of outdoor sports into an opportunity to learn about the landscapes and history of the plain.

The second edition of the Bicitour delle Terre d'Argine was held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, starting at 9:00 AM from the Curiel Lakes in Campogalliano. This year's theme, "Cycling through history, towards equality", linked the ride to the memory of women's rights and the right to vote for women, with theatrical readings along the route. The approximately 79 km loop crossed the four municipalities of the Union of Terre d'Argine, with stops for stamping the Tour passport and small refreshments, concluding with a refreshment for participants.

Start at 9:00 AM from the Curiel Lakes in Campogalliano (Casa Berselli, Via Albone). Edition theme: "Cycling through history, towards equality", with theatrical readings on women's rights and the right to vote for women.
- 9:00 AM–11:00 AM — 1st leg: Campogalliano → Soliera (21.1 km)
- 11:00 AM–2:15 PM — 2nd leg: Soliera → Novi di Modena (23.4 km)
- 2:15 PM–4:15 PM — 3rd leg: Novi di Modena → Carpi (15.6 km)
- 4:15 PM–5:30 PM — 4th leg: Carpi → Campogalliano (18.9 km)
In each town crossed, there were stops for stamping the Tour passport and small refreshments. Partial routes between two or more municipalities were also permitted. The event concluded with a small refreshment offered to participants.

How to get there
The meeting point is at Casa Berselli of the Curiel Lakes in Campogalliano (Via Albone), easily reachable from the Campogalliano exit on the A22 Brenner motorway. By train, the reference station is Modena, from which you can continue by bike or local transport.
Registration
Participation requires online registration on the portal www.modenainbici.it by the day before the event. The symbolic contribution requested is about 5 euros and includes FIAB insurance coverage.
Tips
It is advisable to arrive with a bicycle in good condition, a helmet, water, and appropriate clothing. The route is flat and suitable for everyone, but it is good to assess your own fitness to tackle the entire loop of about 70-79 km.
