About Biccari Summer

Biccari Summer is the major seasonal festival in Biccari, a charming village in the Monti Dauni area of the Foggia province. From July to October, over fifty events bring the historic centre, Lake Pescara, and the surrounding mountains to life, including concerts, theatre, cabaret, food and wine festivals, guided hikes, sports, and activities for children. It is a widespread, largely free programme designed for both residents and tourists exploring the Daunian Subappennines.

A three-month summer in the Monti Dauni

Biccari Summer is the festival that accompanies the town of Biccari, in the province of Foggia, throughout the entire summer season: over fifty events scheduled from July to October. Rather than a single event, it is a comprehensive, widespread programme that blends music, entertainment, tradition, and nature, turning this Daunian Subappennines village into one of the most vibrant cultural hubs in inland Puglia during the summer.

Where it takes place

The events are spread across the narrow streets of the historic centre, dominated by the striking Byzantine Tower, and the natural landscapes that make Biccari a favourite destination for hikers. Many events are held near Lake Pescara, the highest lake in the Monti Dauni, nestled in the woods and surrounded by trails, as well as on the slopes of Mount Cornacchia, the highest peak in Puglia. The mountain landscape, unexpected for those who only associate the region with the sea, is an integral part of the experience.

A multidisciplinary programme

The schedule is intentionally diverse to appeal to a wide audience:

  • Concerts featuring national artists and the Apulian music scene, with pop and singer-songwriter evenings;
  • Theatre, with local companies such as the Piccolo Teatro di Foggia;
  • Cabaret and comedy, featuring well-known faces of Apulian humour;
  • Food and wine festivals, dedicated to the typical products of the Daunian Subappennines;
  • Guided hikes to Lake Pescara, Mount Cornacchia, and along the trails of the Monti Dauni;
  • Sports and children's activities, for a family-friendly summer.

A local project

The festival is promoted by the Municipality of Biccari in collaboration with local associations and the village's InfoPoint, which has invested heavily in recent years to promote the town and its landscapes. Biccari Summer has become a staple of the season, attracting visitors from the Capitanata area and neighbouring provinces, with most events offering free admission. The full programme, featuring over fifty events, is published annually on the official portal and at the Biccari InfoPoint.

Biccari Summer — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of Biccari Summer confirms the village's commitment to a long and event-filled season, featuring concerts, theatre, food festivals, and hikes across the Monti Dauni. Dates and the detailed programme for the 2026 edition have not yet been officially announced: as every year, the full calendar will be published on the visitbiccari.com portal and at the Biccari InfoPoint in the weeks leading up to the start of the festival.

Once again for 2026, the Municipality of Biccari is preparing its Biccari Summer, the widespread festival that in previous years has brought over fifty events from July to October between the historic centre, Lake Pescara, and the Monti Dauni.

At the moment, the dates and detailed programme for the 2026 edition have not yet been published. Based on previous editions, the programme is expected to follow the usual themes: pop and singer-songwriter concerts, theatrical performances and cabaret evenings, food and wine festivals dedicated to the products of the Daunian Subappennines, guided hikes, and events for families and children.

The official programme will be released on the visitbiccari.com portal and at the Biccari InfoPoint. This page will be updated as soon as dates and the line-up are announced.
