A long summer in the Monti Dauni featuring concerts, theatre, food festivals, and hikes
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Biccari Summer is the festival that accompanies the town of Biccari, in the province of Foggia, throughout the entire summer season: over fifty events scheduled from July to October. Rather than a single event, it is a comprehensive, widespread programme that blends music, entertainment, tradition, and nature, turning this Daunian Subappennines village into one of the most vibrant cultural hubs in inland Puglia during the summer.
The events are spread across the narrow streets of the historic centre, dominated by the striking Byzantine Tower, and the natural landscapes that make Biccari a favourite destination for hikers. Many events are held near Lake Pescara, the highest lake in the Monti Dauni, nestled in the woods and surrounded by trails, as well as on the slopes of Mount Cornacchia, the highest peak in Puglia. The mountain landscape, unexpected for those who only associate the region with the sea, is an integral part of the experience.
The schedule is intentionally diverse to appeal to a wide audience:
The festival is promoted by the Municipality of Biccari in collaboration with local associations and the village's InfoPoint, which has invested heavily in recent years to promote the town and its landscapes. Biccari Summer has become a staple of the season, attracting visitors from the Capitanata area and neighbouring provinces, with most events offering free admission. The full programme, featuring over fifty events, is published annually on the official portal and at the Biccari InfoPoint.
Once again for 2026, the Municipality of Biccari is preparing its Biccari Summer, the widespread festival that in previous years has brought over fifty events from July to October between the historic centre, Lake Pescara, and the Monti Dauni.
At the moment, the dates and detailed programme for the 2026 edition have not yet been published. Based on previous editions, the programme is expected to follow the usual themes: pop and singer-songwriter concerts, theatrical performances and cabaret evenings, food and wine festivals dedicated to the products of the Daunian Subappennines, guided hikes, and events for families and children.
The official programme will be released on the visitbiccari.com portal and at the Biccari InfoPoint. This page will be updated as soon as dates and the line-up are announced.
Biccari can be reached by car via the A16 motorway (take the exit towards Foggia) or via the state road connecting Foggia to the Daunian Subappennines; the village is about 30 km from the provincial capital. The most convenient train station is Foggia, from where you can continue by local bus or car.
Most Biccari Summer events are free to attend. For the updated calendar, times, and locations, visit the official website visitbiccari.com or contact the Biccari InfoPoint (tel. +39 0881 591007, [email protected]).
Bring comfortable shoes if you plan to participate in hikes to Lake Pescara or Mount Cornacchia; summer evenings at higher altitudes can be cool. Book your accommodation in advance during peak months, when the village hosts its most popular concerts.
