The Biccari Music Festival

The Biccari Music Festival is an international music event held every June in Biccari, a small village in the Subappennino Dauno perched at an altitude of about 450 meters in the province of Foggia, in the heart of the Monti Dauni, Puglia. The event is organized by the US-based M&M Music and Del Sea Music in close collaboration with the Municipality of Biccari and the local community, which welcomes groups of American musicians and students every year.

An Immersive Musical Experience

More than just a concert series, the Biccari Music Festival is a true cultural experience: for about nine days, musicians, teachers, and young American students relocate to the Daunian village for rehearsals, masterclasses, study sessions, and public performances. The core idea is to offer participants the chance to perform in Italy, immersed in the daily life of an authentic Southern Italian town, while bringing high-quality music to Biccari.

Concerts Among Streets and Churches

The festival is defined by its deep connection to the village's architecture. Concerts are held in the streets, the squares, and the Mother Church of Maria Santissima Assunta, a neoclassical building with a three-nave interior. Alleys, churchyards, and courtyards of the historic center become natural stages, allowing residents and visitors to enjoy the performances of the guest ensembles and soloists for free.

Biccari and the Monti Dauni

The festival is also an opportunity to discover Biccari, a village of just under three thousand inhabitants that has recently invested heavily in slow tourism and the enhancement of its heritage, including Lago Pescara, the Subappennino woodlands, and the Byzantine Tower. The Biccari Music Festival thus fits into an increasingly rich cultural program, helping to introduce this corner of the Province of Foggia and inland Puglia to an international audience.

How to Participate

Participation as a musician is by registration through the American organizers, with a program that includes travel, accommodation, and musical and cultural activities. The public concerts in the village are free to attend and represent the moment when the Biccari community and visitors can enjoy live music in the most beautiful settings of the town.
