The children's Carnival in the heart of the village, organized by Pro Loco Bibbona
When the mask season arrives, the small village of Bibbona, located in the province of Livorno and in the heart of the Etruscan Coast, dresses up in confetti and streamers for its Carnival. This is not a large parade of allegorical floats, but a genuine, family-friendly village festival, carefully organized by Pro Loco Bibbona to offer both young and old an afternoon of joy and togetherness.
The heart of the event is the children. The program is built around family fun, with continuous entertainment that transforms the square into a large play area. Activities throughout the afternoon include balloon modeling, musical games, entertainment, baby dance, and giant bubbles that enchant the little ones. There is also a snack for all ages at the stands and the unmissable prize raffle that closes the festivities.
The festival takes place in the square adjacent to the Teatro La Palestra, in the center of Bibbona, a medieval village that still preserves paved alleys, stone arches, and small, intimate squares. Dominated by its ancient castle and home to the Romanesque parish church of Sant'Ilario, Bibbona is one of the most characteristic villages of coastal Tuscany, just a few kilometers from the sea of Marina di Bibbona and the hills of the Val di Cecina. The Carnival is one of the occasions when the community gathers in its historic center, bringing the village to life outside the summer season.
More than just a show, the Bibbona Carnival is a collective celebration: an opportunity for local families and visitors to the area to spend a carefree afternoon together. The stated goal of the Pro Loco is to provide the community with an afternoon of fun and sharing, true to the popular and welcoming spirit of Tuscan traditions.
On Sunday, February 15, 2026, the square adjacent to the Teatro La Palestra in Bibbona hosted the 2026 edition of the Bibbona Carnival, with the event scheduled for the afternoon starting at 2:30 PM. The date was confirmed by the Pro Loco as the new date for the event.
The program, dedicated primarily to children and families, offered an afternoon full of entertainment amidst masks and confetti.
