The tortello and grilled meat festival by Fortis Juventus at the Romanelli sports field in Borgo San Lorenzo
The Biancoverde Festival is one of the most beloved summer events in Borgo San Lorenzo, the main town of the Mugello area in the province of Florence, Tuscany. The event is organized by A.S.D. Fortis Juventus 1909, the historic local football club whose team colors—white and green—give the festival its name. For about two weeks, the Romanelli Sports Field on Via P. Caiani transforms into the town's outdoor living room: a place to gather for dinner, chat, and support the team that has represented the community for over a century.
The heart of the festival is the food court, open every evening for dinner. The absolute star is Mugello cuisine, starting with the potato tortello, the signature dish of these valleys, served with meat sauce or tomato sauce. Alongside the tortello, you will find grilled meat, cooked over the coals according to Tuscan tradition, and pizza baked on the spot. There is no shortage of aperitifs and outdoor seating, perfect for enjoying summer evenings under the Mugello sky.
The Biancoverde Festival is about more than just food. The program alternates between live music and entertainment, with a well-equipped children's area that makes the evening suitable for the whole family. As it is organized by a sports club, there is a strong focus on athletics: football tournaments, the classic tug-of-war competition, and other challenges involving both adults and children take place. On evenings when major football matches are scheduled, the giant screen allows everyone to follow the games together, turning the field into a collective fan zone.
The festival began as a way to raise funds and foster community spirit around Fortis Juventus, one of the most deeply rooted sports institutions in Mugello. It is an opportunity to bring the public closer to the world of the "white-and-green" club, but above all, to rediscover the spirit of a traditional Tuscan village festival, where good food, conviviality, and local identity intertwine. As the organizers remind us, the invitation is open to all citizens and residents of Mugello, whether they are football fans or not.
The 2026 edition takes place from June 11th to 22nd at the Romanelli Sports Field in Borgo San Lorenzo (FI). The food stalls are open every evening for dinner. Entry to the festival area is free and the event is designed to be accessible to everyone.
