Urban art, music, and nature between Semproniano and Rocchette di Fazio
Bestie Brade — Semproniano Festival is a multidisciplinary event held in the small town of Semproniano, nestled in the hills of the Maremma Amiatina, in the province of Grosseto, Tuscany. The inaugural 2026 edition was born from a collaboration between Half Earth ETS, the Fondazione Animanatura ETS, and the Municipality of Semproniano, under the artistic direction of urban artist Lucamaleonte, renowned for his murals inspired by the animal and plant kingdoms.
The festival unfolds across two iconic local landmarks: the historic center of Semproniano and the ancient medieval village of Rocchette di Fazio, famous for its Aldobrandesca Fortress and its Templar history. In this setting, urban art engages with the stone of the villages and the surrounding landscape, creating a widespread trail of artworks and installations.
The inaugural edition featured a blend of languages and experiences:
Bestie Brade is not intended as a commercial event, but rather as an opportunity to experience the territory in a slower, more human way, closer to nature. Connection, discovery, and friendship are at the heart of an event that links art, landscape, culture, and community. The bond with the Animanatura Sanctuary gives the event a strong ethical and environmental focus, where art becomes a tool for awareness and reconnection with the animal world.
With its first edition, Bestie Brade enriches the cultural landscape of the Grosseto Maremma, bringing contemporary art and street art into an authentic, rural context. It is a proposal that enhances the small villages of inland Tuscany and invites visitors and curious travelers to discover Semproniano and Rocchette di Fazio in a new light.
The inaugural edition of Bestie Brade was held from Saturday, May 30, to Tuesday, June 2, 2026, enlivening the historic center of Semproniano and the village of Rocchette di Fazio, in the province of Grosseto. Promoted by Half Earth ETS, Fondazione Animanatura ETS, and the Municipality of Semproniano, with the artistic direction of Lucamaleonte, the festival blended urban art, installations, music, and local gastronomy.
Between murals created in the villages, musical moments in the square, and visits to the Animanatura Sanctuary, the event offered a slow, participatory experience dedicated to reconnecting with nature and the value of community.
The program for the first edition was spread across Semproniano and Rocchette di Fazio, featuring: the creation of murals and urban art installations under the artistic direction of Lucamaleonte; live music in the squares; local culinary moments and conviviality; and guided tours of the Animanatura Sanctuary. Full details of the musical line-up and schedules were not released online.
