Live music, memory, and solidarity in Torre Santa Susanna
The Bembe Music Fest is one of the most heartfelt events of the summer in northern Salento. It takes place in Torre Santa Susanna, a small town in the province of Brindisi, Puglia, and for one night, it transforms Largo Convento into an open-air stage. This is not just a simple concert series: it is a grassroots project, born from the initiative of about fifty young volunteers who, in 2023, decided to process their grief by turning it into music, sharing, and civic engagement.
The festival is dedicated to Nicola Bempensato, known to all as "Bembe," a young man from Torre Santa Susanna who passed away prematurely in May 2023. His friends chose to remember him in the way he would have loved most: a stage and plenty of music, to soothe the pain of an entire community and to keep the local area vibrant through culture and togetherness. Since that first, moving July 27, 2023, the Bembe Music Fest has become a ritual that vibrates with notes and memories every year.
The festival combines major names from the Italian music scene with a strong charitable vocation. Admission is free, and part of the proceeds from the evening, along with collected donations, is donated to charity: in the first editions, five multiparameter monitors were donated to the hematology department of the "A. Perrino" Hospital in Brindisi, and the hospital itself and the AIL (Italian Association against Leukemia) have been supported. A portion of the funds is also used for self-financing to ensure future editions.
In just a few years, the festival has hosted prominent artists from the Italian independent and singer-songwriter scene: from Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti to Rachele Bastreghi and La Municipร l in 2024, up to Dente, Lauryyn, and Godblesscomputer in 2025. The 2026 edition confirms the quality of the lineup with Rancore as the headliner, joined by LONOCE and DeStradis.
Beyond the concerts, the evening offers areas dedicated to food, drinks, and merchandise, in a festive atmosphere that involves the entire community of Torre Santa Susanna and visitors arriving from all over the province of Brindisi and Salento. The Bembe Music Fest is proof of how a small Puglian community can build, starting from the memory of a loved one, a cultural event capable of uniting art, memory, and generosity.
The 2026 edition of the Bembe Music Fest confirms the formula that has made the event a beloved appointment in the Brindisi area: high-quality live music, free admission, and a strong spirit of solidarity. The evening takes place at Largo Convento, in the heart of Torre Santa Susanna, with live performances starting at 8:00 PM.
The headliner of the evening is Rancore, one of the most refined and visionary voices of Italian rap, on tour with tracks from his album Tarek da colorare: a sonic journey that weaves together words, images, and reflection. Joining him on stage are LONOCE and DeStradis.
Food, drink, and merchandise areas are open throughout the evening. The exact order of performances may be updated by the organizers on official channels (@bembe_music_fest).
