The grand Piedmontese mixed fry evening in Bazzana di Mombaruzzo
The Bazzanese-Style Mixed Fry is the flagship gastronomic event of the Pro Loco Amici di Bazzana APS, an association founded by a group of friends in the small hamlet of Bazzana, in the municipality of Mombaruzzo (Province of Asti, Piedmont). For years, these enthusiasts of traditional Piedmontese cuisine have made the mixed fry their signature dish, even creating their own personal "Bazzanese" version, which gives the entire evening its name.
The Piedmontese mixed fry is one of the iconic dishes of the Asti and Monferrato regions: a rich and varied composition of breaded and fried meats, vegetables, fruits, and sweets, blending savory and sweet notes on the same plate. In Bazzana, this dish is prepared with great care and served in a festive format, where the fried feast is the absolute star, complemented by a full menu of local traditions.
The evening offers a generous culinary journey designed to showcase the flavors of the territory:
Everything is paired with local wines, in an area renowned for viticulture, including Barbera, Dolcetto, and Moscato d'Asti.
Beyond the food, the evening is enlivened by music and dancing, reflecting the convivial spirit that has always defined the initiatives of the Amici di Bazzana. It is a wonderful opportunity to gather, share a table, and experience the authentic atmosphere of a Piedmontese village festival.
The Amici di Bazzana organize their mixed fry evenings at various times throughout the year, traditionally in spring and autumn, with occasional dates in the winter months. Reservations are mandatory due to high demand: the association's headquarters are located on Via Alessandria in Bazzana di Mombaruzzo, easily accessible from nearby towns in the Asti and Alessandria areas.
