Three days of music, sports, culture, and flavors at Parco 2 Giugno in Bari
The Bari May Day Festival has become one of the most anticipated spring events in the capital of Puglia. Created to restore a community-focused, open-air Labor Day celebration to the city, it has grown over the years into a true city within a city set up in Parco 2 Giugno, Bari's expansive green lung on Viale della Resistenza. The event is organized by Soul Club, with the patronage of the Municipality of Bari and the support of the Puglia Region, as part of the regional calendar of major events.
Music is the heart of the festival, spread across several themed areas designed to cater to diverse audiences and genres:
The Bari May Day Festival is a deeply multidisciplinary and inclusive event. The park lawn hosts basketball tournaments, rugby demonstrations with the Tigri Rugby Bari, and free yoga and Pilates sessions led by professionals. The kids' area offers inflatables, puppet theater shows, creative workshops, and fun activities for families. There are also art exhibitions, vintage markets, painting and craft workshops, and health prevention initiatives. The extensive street food area brings together culinary excellence from Puglia and across Italy.
Completely free, the Bari May Day Festival is designed as a popular celebration open to all ages: a way to experience May 1st together, amidst concerts, sports, flavors, and social interaction in the greenery of one of the city's most beloved parks. For those visiting Puglia during this time, it is also the perfect opportunity to discover the young and creative soul of Bari.
The seventh edition of the Bari May Day Festival took place from May 1 to 3, 2026, at Parco 2 Giugno in Bari, confirming its status as one of the most attended popular festivals of the Apulian spring. As per tradition, the heart of the event consisted of four themed stages: main stage, electronic stage, basket stage, and food stage.
Musical highlights included Bari-born singer-songwriter Maninni with his "1997" project, the band Les Votives, DJ Sgamo, and, for the finale, GNMR (Gianmaria Coccoluto). There was also space for the local electronic scene and the final of the national Festival Pass contest, which selected six finalists from approximately 700 applications across Italy.
Alongside the music, three days of free sports, yoga, and Pilates, rugby demonstrations, a kids' area with workshops and shows, vintage markets, and a wide street food area were offered, all emphasizing free access and inclusion.
Parco 2 Giugno is located at Viale della Resistenza 154, in the Poggiofranco district of Bari (ZIP 70124). It is accessible by car from the ring road (exit 12) and served by several AMTAB urban bus lines. Park-and-ride services to the park are active during the event.
Admission to the event is free. The park typically opens in the late morning, and musical programming continues until the evening throughout the festival days.
Given the high attendance, we recommend reaching the park via public transport or dedicated shuttle services. Numerous street food refreshment areas are available inside.
