The night when Modugno wakes up to sport, entertainment, and solidarity
The White Night of Sport is one of the most popular summer events in Modugno, a town just outside Bari in central Puglia. For one entire night, the heart of the town, between Piazza Sedile and Corso Vittorio Emanuele, turns into a huge open-air sports village: from late afternoon until the first light of dawn, athletes, sports clubs, families, and curious visitors gather to share a night of passion, fun, and community.
The sports program is the true engine of the event. In the squares and streets of the town center, tournaments are held alongside exhibitions by numerous local associations, with different disciplines featured each year: soccer, volleyball, street basketball, boxing, artistic gymnastics, taekwondo, table tennis, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, krav maga, mini-rugby, and many others. It is an opportunity for local athletes to test themselves, but also for the public to discover lesser-known sports up close in a festive and inclusive atmosphere.
Alongside the sports competitions, the White Night of Sport offers a rich program of evening and late-night entertainment: DJ sets with radio guests, comedy shows featuring well-known names from the Italian cabaret scene, live music, and animation transform Piazza Sedile into an open-air stage. The show continues long into the night, staying true to the "white night" spirit that gives the event its name.
The event is organized by the Associazione Culturale Piazza Pubblica and has a strong charitable mission: registration fees from tournament participants and proceeds from the event are donated to solidarity projects supporting pediatric healthcare facilities in the Bari area. In this way, sport becomes a concrete tool for solidarity and growth for the Modugno community.
Free and open to everyone, the White Night of Sport is an event that involves the entire city and neighboring towns, attracting thousands of people every year. It has become one of the signature events of the Modugno summer, capable of combining sport, entertainment, and social commitment into one great town festival.
The 13th edition of the White Night of Sport is scheduled in Modugno (Bari) on July 18 and 19, 2026. The Associazione Culturale Piazza Pubblica confirms two days dedicated to sport, entertainment, and solidarity in the heart of the city, between Piazza Sedile and Corso Vittorio Emanuele.
As in previous editions, the event will feature tournaments and exhibitions of numerous sports disciplines, a stage with entertainment and special guests, and a charity collection in favor of local pediatric healthcare facilities. The organizers have announced that all details regarding registration, participation methods, and the official program will be released in the weeks preceding the event.
