Jazz arrives in the villages of Coreglia

The Concerts in the villages are the touring section of the BargaJazz Festival, the historic jazz event organised by the Polyphonia APS Association that brings Barga and the entire Serchio Valley to life every summer. Alongside the evening performances in Barga's historic centre and the famous International Arrangement and Composition Competition, the festival brings music to the small towns of the Media Valle and Garfagnana, turning squares, churchyards, and historic nooks into open-air stages.

Among the municipalities hosting this itinerant format for years is the Municipality of Coreglia Antelminelli, in the province of Lucca, Tuscany. The concerts in the villages of Coreglia take place in the hilly hamlets of the municipal territory, in collaboration between the festival organisers, the Municipality, and local associations, forming part of the town's rich summer calendar.

The 2026 stops in Coreglia

For the 2026 edition, BargaJazz—which runs from July 19th to August 30th—reaches the Coreglia Antelminelli area with two events announced in the municipal summer programme:

• July 31, 2026 — Gromignana: the village concert series kicks off in the hamlet of Gromignana, a small hillside town overlooking the valley.
• August 9, 2026 — Coreglia Capoluogo: jazz music reaches the historic centre of the main town, a medieval village also known for its Plaster Figurine Museum.

The names of the bands and soloists in the lineup, as well as precise timings, are communicated by the organisation in the weeks leading up to the concerts via the official festival website and the channels of the Municipality of Coreglia Antelminelli.

An intimate and free format

The village concerts are designed as intimate gatherings, far from the logic of large stages: the audience listens to music while seated in the small village squares, often with free entry, immersed in the atmosphere of the historic Serchio Valley towns. It is a format that combines the musical quality of BargaJazz with the promotion of the local area and its smaller hamlets, from Gromignana to Tereglio and the main town.

Barga, Coreglia, and the Serchio Valley

The festival is set in a territory with a strong identity: the Media Valle del Serchio and Garfagnana, lands of medieval villages, chestnut groves, and musical traditions. Coreglia Antelminelli, with its towns scattered among the hills between the Lima and Serchio rivers, offers an ideal setting for a summer jazz evening, just a few kilometres from Barga, Bagni di Lucca, and the city of Lucca.
