Music, wine, and sunsets in the hills of Costigliole d'Asti
The Barbera Summer Festival is a summer series that blends live music, fine wines, and stunning landscapes in the San Michele natural amphitheatre, a captivating venue tucked away among the vineyards of Costigliole d'Asti, in the heart of the Asti province. Here, the rolling hills mark the border between the Langhe and Monferrato regions, providing a natural backdrop for evenings of concerts under the stars.
Launched in 2025 by the local community, the festival aims to introduce a young and curious audience to the territory and its most iconic products, presented with a contemporary twist. The formula is simple and effective: a concert every evening, free admission, a glass of Barbera or Moscato d'Asti in hand, and traditional Piedmontese dishes served outdoors.
The musical lineup spans folk, jazz, swing, rock, singer-songwriter performances, and urban brass bands, featuring artists from the Piedmontese scene and beyond. The evenings take place in the setting of the San Michele amphitheatre, where the sunset over the vines accompanies the start of the concerts. Alongside the stage, tastings of Barbera d'Asti and Moscato d'Asti from local producers and traditional cuisine prepared by the Pro Loco of Costigliole d'Asti complete an experience that combines gastronomy and entertainment.
The Barbera Summer Festival has become a highly anticipated summer event in Costigliole d'Asti and throughout the Asti Monferrato, a land of famous wines and UNESCO-listed hills. The event celebrates the bond between the vine and the community, transforming the amphitheatre among the rows of vines into a meeting place for families, music fans, and lovers of fine Piedmontese wine.
The 2026 edition of the Barbera Summer Festival is the second for this young festival and is enriched by the artistic co-direction of J-AX. Five evenings of live music will enliven the San Michele natural amphitheatre in Costigliole d'Asti, from July 1st to 29th, 2026, with free admission as always.
Each concert is accompanied by tastings of wines from local producers, with Barbera and Moscato d'Asti in the spotlight, and traditional dishes served outdoors among the vineyards of the Asti Monferrato.
