A month of free music, beer, and fun in Borgo a Mozzano
The BAM Festival is the most beloved summer event in Borgo a Mozzano, a town in the Media Valle del Serchio in the province of Lucca, in the heart of Tuscany. For over three weeks, the town transforms into a vibrant hub for music, entertainment, and food lovers, with a rich and engaging program that brings together different genres, styles, and generations. The winning formula has been tried and tested for over forty years: many consecutive nights of live music, always with completely free admission.
Founded in the early eighties, the BAM Festival has grown with each edition to become one of the flagship summer events in the province of Lucca. Over the years, it has also been known as the "Beer Festival," a nickname that perfectly captures its convivial and popular spirit. The 2026 edition marks the milestone of 42 years of history, confirming a deep bond with the local area and the many people who bring the town's sports field to life every summer.
The BAM Festival lineup is designed to satisfy a wide and diverse audience: every night, the stage hosts a different act, ranging from tribute bands dedicated to the greatest names in Italian and international music to cover groups, local ensembles, DJs, and themed nights. Over the years, the festival has featured nights dedicated to nineties music, rock, indie, and the great classics of Italian song, with events suitable for families, young people, and nostalgic fans alike.
Surrounding the stage is a true festival village: a restaurant area and food court with specialties to enjoy, a characteristic Bavarian area with draft beer, a funfair for the little ones, and numerous markets and stalls. It is the perfect opportunity to spend the evening enjoying good food, the cool evening air, and plenty of music, in the informal and family-friendly atmosphere that is the hallmark of the event.
The BAM Festival is organized by the Municipality of Borgo a Mozzano in collaboration with local organizations that manage the event's operations. In recent years, the artistic direction has been entrusted to Fabio Belli, who curates the rich calendar of events. The fact that all concerts are free makes the festival truly accessible to everyone, a symbol of a community that has known how to celebrate together for decades.
The 2026 edition of the BAM Festival celebrates the event's 42nd anniversary and takes place in Borgo a Mozzano (Lucca) from July 3rd to 26th, 2026, with 24 nights of live music, draft beer, gastronomy, and entertainment, all with free admission.
Once again this year, the festival offers a lineup designed to unite different genres, styles, and generations, accompanied by a restaurant area, food court, Bavarian beer garden, funfair, and markets.
At the time of the date announcement, the detailed program with artists and guests had not yet been made public; it will be communicated in the following weeks through the festival's official channels (website bamfestival.it, Facebook and Instagram @bamfestival_official).
