Three nights of music, gastronomy, and solidarity in Melissano
The Baguette Music Festival is one of the most anticipated early-summer events in Melissano, a town in lower Salento in the province of Lecce, Apulia. Born in 2017 as a simple baguette festival, it has transformed over the years into a three-night event that weaves together live music, DJ sets, entertainment, and street food, attracting thousands of visitors from across the Salento region.
The festival takes place in the Via P. Bianchi Event Area, an outdoor space that comes alive for the occasion with a stage, food stalls, and family-friendly zones. Admission is completely free for all evenings, in keeping with the festival's popular and inclusive spirit.
The musical program is the beating heart of the festival: each night, a different artist or format turns the Event Area into a massive open-air dance floor. Past editions have featured explosive shows, themed nights dedicated to the greatest Italian hits, and reggae concerts featuring top names from the Salento scene. The formula combines well-known acts for younger audiences with performances suitable for all generations.
As the name suggests, the signature dish remains the stuffed baguette, which has been joined over the years by a rich array of specialties: rotisserie items, Salento pittule, fried treats, crepes, desserts, craft beer, and cocktails. Great attention is also paid to those with specific dietary needs, with an area dedicated to gluten-free products. The food and wine stalls remain open until late at night.
The festival is organized by the Milan Club Melissano Association with the patronage of the Municipality of Melissano and the Apulia Region, thanks to the hard work of numerous volunteers. Beyond the entertainment, the event has a strong charitable focus: part of the activities supports local philanthropic initiatives. There are also dedicated areas for children, with games and inflatables, making the festival a perfect outing for the whole family.
The seventh edition of the Baguette Music Festival was held in Melissano (LE) from Friday, May 30, to Sunday, June 1, 2026, at the usual Via P. Bianchi Event Area, with free admission.
The musical program offered three distinct nights: the opening on May 30 with Samsara On Tour, one of the most explosive shows around; May 31 with Bar Italia - La Discoteca Italiana and the "Nostalgia Canaglia" format dedicated to 90s hits; and the grand finale on June 1 with a concert by Sud Sound System and the Bag-A-Riddim Band, flagbearers of Salento reggae.
Alongside the music, the essential gastronomic offering included stuffed baguettes, crepes, fried treats, craft beer, cocktails, and an area dedicated to gluten-free products. The event, organized by the Milan Club Melissano with the patronage of the Municipality and the Apulia Region, also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting local charitable initiatives.
