Attraverso Cesenatico is one of the most beloved running events on the Romagna coast: every year, at the beginning of March, it officially kicks off the running calendar for the region. Organized by Atletica Cesenatico with the patronage of the Municipality of Cesenatico (province of Forlì-Cesena, in Emilia-Romagna), the race attracts thousands of athletes and enthusiasts who run along the streets of the seaside town, between the Leonardesque canal port and the seafront.
Three ways to participate
The event is designed for everyone, from competitive runners to families who simply want to walk together:
- Competitive 10 km race approved by FIDAL, valid as the opening event of the road season and paired with the RivieraBanca Trophy.
- Fun run and non-competitive race over distances of 5 or 10 km, open to anyone who wants to participate without the pressure of the clock.
- Kids Run dedicated to the youngest, with the Romagna Iniziative Trophy, and youth athletics races on the stadium track.
Start and finish at Stadio Moretti
The logistical heart of the day is the Stadio Comunale Alfiero Moretti, on Viale Gastone Sozzi, where the meeting, start, and finish for all events are set. The 10-kilometer city course, flat and fast, crosses the center of Cesenatico and often offers significant timing achievements: in the last edition, the top men finished the 10 km in under 31 minutes.
Sport and territory
More than just a race, Attraverso Cesenatico is a popular festival that colors the city with bibs and cheers. For Cesenatico, a pearl of the Adriatic Riviera, it is also an opportunity to showcase itself out of season, when the beach is still quiet but the fishing village comes alive to welcome runners from all over Romagna and beyond. An event that intertwines competition, popular participation, and the identity of a community tied to the sea.

- Saturday, March 7 — Kids Run and youth athletics races on the track at Stadio Moretti.
- Sunday, March 8, 8:00 AM — participant gathering at Stadio Comunale Alfiero Moretti.
- Sunday, March 8, 9:30 AM — start of the competitive 10 km FIDAL race (RivieraBanca Trophy).
- Simultaneously: fun run and non-competitive race over 5 and 10 km distances, open to all.
Numbers and results
Record edition with over 3,000 participants. Among the men, Michele Cacaci (A.S.D. Dinamo Running) won in 30:49, ahead of Alberto Della Pasqua and Gianluca Squadroni. Among the women, Ilaria Sabbatini (S.E.F. Stamura Ancona) took victory in 35:31, followed by Demetra Tarozzi and Greta Negro.

How to get there
By car: take the Cesena exit from the A14 motorway, then the E45 expressway and the state road towards the coast. By train: Cesenatico station on the Bologna–Ancona Adriatic line, a short distance from the stadium. By plane: Rimini (Federico Fellini) and Bologna (Guglielmo Marconi) airports.
Registration and fees

The fee for the competitive 10 km is usually around 12 euros in advance (increasing in the final days) and includes a race pack, refreshments, and services.
