About Atrium Summer Festival

The Atrium Summer Festival is a series of free-entry concerts that brings the July evenings in Torre Annunziata, in the metropolitan city of Naples, to life. Launched in 2026 to inaugurate the Atrium—the new open-air square at Maximall Pompeii inspired by the courtyards of Roman domus, complete with an impluvium and scenic fountains—the event features four Fridays of live music, ranging from multi-platinum pop and local Neapolitan rap to traditional melodies. A stage without tickets, open to families, young people, and visitors to the center.

A free festival at the foot of Mount Vesuvius

The Atrium Summer Festival is a summer music series held in Torre Annunziata, a town in the metropolitan city of Naples, in Campania. The stage is set in the outdoor area of Maximall Pompeii, the large shopping center on Via Plinio overlooking the gulf, just minutes from the archaeological sites of Pompeii and the Oplontis excavations, home to the famous Villa of Poppaea. All evenings are completely free to attend: no tickets, no pre-sales; entry is on a first-come, first-served basis until the area reaches capacity.

The Atrium: a square inspired by the Roman domus

The festival takes its name from the space that hosts it. The Atrium is the new open-air area of Maximall Pompeii, designed as the beating heart of the center's experience and conceived to recall the atrium of ancient Roman domus: at its center, an impluvium and scenic fountains, surrounded by a space designed for resting, meeting, and entertainment. An architectural reference that is far from coincidental in a territory that lives daily with Vesuvius's archaeology, and which was inaugurated in 2026 with this very concert series.

The 2026 program: four Fridays, four musical souls

The inaugural 2026 edition took place over four consecutive Fridays in July—the 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th—with shows starting at 8:00 PM. The artistic direction chose to alternate between very different genres to reach diverse audiences:

  • Friday, July 3 — Samurai Jay: the opening was entrusted to one of the emerging names in Italian hip-hop, with a style that weaves Latin and Mediterranean sounds.
  • Friday, July 10 — The Kolors: the multi-platinum Italian pop band, the star of the most crowded night of the festival, with over 6,000 people in front of the stage.
  • Friday, July 17 — Frezza, Coco, and Lele Blade: an urban triple-header with three voices from the contemporary Neapolitan rap scene.
  • Friday, July 24 — Gigi Finizio: a grand finale with one of the most beloved interpreters of Neapolitan melody, boasting a decades-long career and a repertoire of classics.

The atmosphere of the evenings

The evenings have the typical rhythm of summer festivals in the Naples area: people arrive early, often with their families, have dinner or take a walk in the gallery before the stage lights up, and then the outdoor square fills up. The audience is diverse—groups of teenagers for the urban nights, entire families and fans of Neapolitan songs for the finale with Finizio—and the free formula breaks down barriers to access, transforming a commercial venue into a space for evening social life.

Torre Annunziata and the Vesuvius area

Torre Annunziata is a city of sea and industrial history, famous for its pasta and the archaeological heritage of Oplontis, a UNESCO site along with Pompeii and Herculaneum. The festival is part of a very busy summer in Campania, and for many visitors, it is an opportunity to combine a day among the Vesuvius excavations, a stop at the beach, and a free evening concert. The festival is not an isolated event: already in the summer of 2025, the center hosted a long program of free concerts, shows, and DJ sets, the MaxiMall Summer Festival.

Why it's worth it

For those vacationing on the Vesuvius coast or living in the area south of Naples, the Atrium Summer Festival offers a rare formula: big national names, fixed dates, convenient times, and free admission. The advice is to arrive well in advance on the nights featuring the most famous artists, when attendance easily exceeds thousands of people.

Atrium Summer Festival — edition 2026

The inaugural edition of the Atrium Summer Festival took place over the four Fridays of July 2026—the 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th—in the outdoor area of Maximall Pompeii in Torre Annunziata. Four free-entry concerts starting at 8:00 PM, ranging from the rap of Samurai Jay to the pop of The Kolors, from the Neapolitan urban style of Frezza, Coco, and Lele Blade to the melody of Gigi Finizio. The festival officially inaugurated the Atrium, the new open-air square with an impluvium and fountains inspired by Roman domus.

2026 Edition

The first edition of the Atrium Summer Festival lit up the Fridays of July 2026 in Torre Annunziata, in the outdoor area of Maximall Pompeii, with four live events, all with free admission. The festival coincided with the inauguration of the Atrium, the open-air space designed to recall the atrium of ancient Roman domus, featuring an impluvium and scenic fountains.

The lineup brought different genres into dialogue: the Latin-Mediterranean hip-hop of Samurai Jay at the opening, the multi-platinum pop of The Kolors, the Neapolitan rap scene with Frezza, Coco, and Lele Blade, and finally the great Neapolitan melody of Gigi Finizio. The evening of July 10 recorded the peak attendance, with over 6,000 people in front of the stage.

The center's management presented the festival as part of a broader project: to make Maximall Pompeii not just a commercial destination but a place for gathering, culture, and entertainment accessible to the Vesuvius territory.
