Contemporary Performing Arts in Orvieto
ARTeVENTI is the festival dedicated to contemporary performing arts in Orvieto, in the province of Terni. An event that spans theatre, dance, performance, photography, burlesque, and queerlesque in a multidisciplinary calendar, hosted in the historic theatres and unique venues of the historic centre.
A Different Theme Each Year
Each edition revolves around a provocative theme that runs through all the proposed languages: from the exploration of the absurd to irreverence. More than just a review, ARTeVENTI is a research platform that invites artists and the public to question forms, bodies, and narratives, breaking down the boundaries of traditional genres.
Historic Theatres and Unique Spaces
The venues range from the Teatro Mancinelli and its Ridotto to the Teatro del Carmine, from the San Giovenale Gardens to art studios and city spaces rediscovered for the occasion. The festival is produced by Orvieto's cultural organisations with the patronage of the Municipality of Orvieto and the support of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Orvieto, confirming itself as one of the most experimental events in Umbria.
ARTeVENTI — edition 2026
The fourth edition of ARTeVENTI, titled 'IRRIVERENT!', enlivens Orvieto from May 7 to 10, 2026. Four days of contemporary performing arts spanning theatre, dance, performance, burlesque, and queerlesque, between historic theatres and unique city spaces.
The theme 'IRRIVERENT!' is a statement: an invitation to break down the boundaries of traditional forms and to question languages, bodies, and narratives. The festival is supported by the Municipality of Orvieto and the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Orvieto, in collaboration with local cultural organisations.

Saturday, May 9

- 9:00 PM — Burlesque & Queerlesque Night with DJ set at Studio d'arte Chioccia

How to Get There
Orvieto can be reached from the Orvieto exit of the A1 motorway and from the train station on the Rome-Florence line, with a funicular to the historic centre. The festival venues (theatres and city spaces) are in the historic centre, reachable on foot.
Admission
Shows and workshops may be free or ticketed depending on the event. Booking is often required for workshops. The program, venues, and access methods will be communicated by the organisers closer to the festival.
