Classical music under the starry Chianti sky at Castello di Verrazzano
In the heart of Tuscany, nestled among the hills and vineyards of Greve in Chianti (Province of Florence), the Castello di Verrazzano opens its doors to great music with Armonia@Verrazzano, the summer series of instrumental classical concerts. Three evenings under the starry sky, where the most beloved pieces of the classical repertoire engage with one of Italy's most celebrated landscapes.
The event takes place on July 2, 9, and 16, 2026, at the Castello di Verrazzano, a historic residence surrounded by Chianti vineyards. The choice of location is no coincidence: the combination of the castle's architecture, the Chianti hills, and live music creates an intimate and refined atmosphere, far from traditional concert halls and close to the tradition of Tuscan villas and castles that have hosted music for centuries.
The series is promoted by APS Spazio Lirica, a non-profit, non-partisan Florentine cultural association with a long history, chaired by An Roos. For years, Spazio Lirica has brought music to the region's iconic landmarks—from Chianti villas and castles to the basilicas of Florence—while fostering the development of young talent. The 2026 edition is held in collaboration with StudiumFiesolanum and under the patronage of the Municipality of Greve in Chianti.
The three July concerts at Castello di Verrazzano are the first chapter of Estate in Armonia nel Chianti, the musical program that Spazio Lirica dedicates to the Greve area. Following the instrumental interlude at Verrazzano, the season continues in August with the PanzanoFestival, which stages opera at the Limonaia in Panzano with fifteen young singers selected through an international casting process. Armonia@Verrazzano thus represents the instrumental and contemplative soul of a broader project that turns Chianti into a summer stage for classical music.
Attending a concert at Castello di Verrazzano means combining the listening of classical music with the discovery of one of Tuscany's most beloved regions. Greve in Chianti, the ideal capital of the wine region, is the perfect starting point for an evening that weaves together culture, landscape, and winemaking tradition: an occasion designed both for music lovers and those visiting Chianti in the summer.

Castello di Verrazzano is located in the territory of Greve in Chianti (FI), along the Via Chiantigiana (SR222) road connecting Florence to Siena. By car, it can be reached from Florence in about 40 minutes by following the signs for Greti and Castello di Verrazzano. We recommend planning your car travel, as the hilly area has limited public transport in the evening.
Concerts on July 2, 9, and 16, 2026, in the evening.
