About ArezzoGravel

ArezzoGravel is a non-competitive cycling event that brings hundreds of gravel bike, mountain bike, and e-bike enthusiasts to the white roads and scenic trails of the Arezzo province in Tuscany every spring. Starting from the heart of the city, the event offers four routes suitable for all levels, blending sport, landscape, and local flavors with gourmet refreshment stops and the legendary Alpe di Poti climb. A late-March appointment to be experienced in the saddle, held in conjunction with the L'Ardita vintage cycling event.

ArezzoGravel: cycling through the hills of Arezzo

ArezzoGravel is a non-competitive cycling event dedicated to the gravel world, reaching its fourth edition in 2026. Organized by A.S.D. Gli Arditi del Ciclismo, the event takes place in Arezzo, the capital of the homonymous Tuscan province. It highlights the white roads and quieter paths of the territory, offering participants a day immersed in the most evocative landscapes of the Arezzo hills.

Four routes for all levels

The event features four routes designed to satisfy every type of cyclist, from beginners to the most experienced athletes:

  • Il Corto — approx. 50 km, 530m elevation gain, suitable for everyone;
  • Il Classico — approx. 65 km, 850m elevation gain, featuring the Alpe di Poti climb;
  • L'Ardita — approx. 80 km, 1,300m elevation gain, more demanding, with a timed section;
  • L'Arditissimo — approx. 120 km, 2,100m elevation gain, the toughest, for the most trained riders.

The heart of the route is the Alpe di Poti, a climb made famous by the Giro d'Italia, tackled in several routes as a timed hill climb.

Sport, taste, and tradition

ArezzoGravel is not just about riding: along the routes, cyclists encounter high-quality refreshment stops that showcase local flavors, from the tarts of Castelluccio and Castiglion Fibocchi to the tripe of Subbiano, and the famous 'rocchio' at Poti. The staggered 'randonnée-style' start in the morning and the convivial atmosphere make this day a true gastronomic journey as well as a sporting one.

A weekend of great cycling in Arezzo

ArezzoGravel takes place alongside L'Ardita, the vintage cycling event of Alpe di Poti reserved for classic bicycles, creating an entire weekend dedicated to two wheels. Piazza della Libertà and the historic center of Arezzo host an exhibition of vintage bikes, while the day concludes with the awards ceremony and the "Senza Freni" meeting in the Sala dei Grandi, featuring cycling champions and journalists. It is an opportunity to discover Arezzo and eastern Tuscany from a privileged point of view: the handlebars of your own bike.

ArezzoGravel — edition 2026

The fourth edition of ArezzoGravel took place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, starting from the historic center of Arezzo in the Piazza della Libertà / Via Ricasoli area. The formula with four routes and the Alpe di Poti climb was confirmed, during a weekend shared with the tenth edition of the L'Ardita vintage cycling event.

The IV edition of ArezzoGravel was held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, with a staggered start from 8:00 AM from the center of Arezzo. Four routes were offered: Il Corto (approx. 50 km), Il Classico (approx. 65 km), L'Ardita (approx. 80 km), and L'Arditissimo (approx. 120 km), including the timed Alpe di Poti hill climb.

There was no shortage of gourmet local refreshment stops, from the tarts of Castelluccio and Castiglion Fibocchi to the tripe of Subbiano. The day concluded with the awards ceremony at 4:00 PM and the "Senza Freni" meeting in the Sala dei Grandi. The event took place concurrently with the vintage cycling event L'Ardita, dedicated to classic bikes, during the weekend of March 28-29.
