The festival celebrating cherries in the Arezzo countryside
The Bagnoro Cherry Festival is one of the most cherished summer events in the village of Bagnoro, a small hillside town on the outskirts of Arezzo, in Tuscany. Every year in late June, the Pro Loco gardens next to the Pieve di Sant'Eugenia become the beating heart of the village: outdoor tables, the aroma of Tuscan cuisine, and the joy of a community gathering around the fruit that symbolizes these hills: the cherry.
Organized with passion by the Pro Loco Valle del Bagnoro, the festival was created to promote local produce, particularly the cherries grown in the countryside around Arezzo. Over the years, the event has increasingly opened up to local farms, becoming an opportunity to discover and taste local products. It is an authentic festival, far from the large commercial circuits, where the quality of the food, the warmth of the welcome, and the spirit of volunteerism that drives every edition are what truly count.
Throughout the festival, the food stalls open every evening at 7:30 PM with a rich menu of specialties: there is the festival's pizzeria, beer garden, and restaurant, where you can savor typical Arezzo cuisine in a convivial and family-friendly atmosphere. The evenings continue with live music, DJ sets, and children's entertainment, making the festival suitable for all ages.
Bagnoro is a village in the municipality of Arezzo, in the province of Arezzo, nestled in the gentle, rolling landscape of the Tuscan countryside. The nearby city of Arezzo, with its Piazza Grande, the Pieve di Santa Maria, and the famous Corso, offers visitors an art and history destination just a few minutes away. The Cherry Festival is the ideal opportunity to combine a local festival evening with a broader discovery of this corner of Tuscany, among villages, parish churches, and hills.
The Bagnoro Cherry Festival returns in 2026 for five evenings, from Wednesday, June 24 to Sunday, June 28, in the Pro Loco gardens next to the Pieve di Sant'Eugenia. Every evening, the food stalls open at 7:30 PM with the festival's pizzeria, beer garden, and restaurant, while live music and DJ sets enliven the nights. There is also space for children's entertainment, making it a festival suitable for the whole family. The event is organized by the Pro Loco Valle del Bagnoro.
Children's entertainment is also planned every evening. Stalls open at 7:30 PM.
Bagnoro is located just a few kilometers from the center of Arezzo. By car, it is easily reached from the city by taking the hillside roads toward the village; it is advisable to arrive by car as the area is poorly served by public transport. The Arezzo train station, on the Florence-Rome line, is about a 10-minute drive away.
Admission to the festival is free. You pay at the counter for what you consume at the food stalls (pizzeria, beer garden, and restaurant).
The stalls open every evening at 7:30 PM: to avoid waiting on busier nights, it is best to arrive early. The festival takes place outdoors, so comfortable clothing is recommended. For information, you can contact the Pro Loco at [email protected].
