Arcobonsai, the spring of bonsai in Arco
In the heart of Garda Trentino, the municipality of Arco (Province of Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige) hosts Arcobonsai every spring, the most important Italian exhibition dedicated to bonsai and suiseki and a reference point for all of Europe. Established in 1987 and organized by the Arcobonsai Club Garda Trentino, the event has made Arco one of the historic centers of bonsai culture in our country, earning the patronage of the Consulate General of Japan in Italy on several occasions.
An art form from Japan
Bonsai and suiseki (contemplation stones) are disciplines that require patience, sensitivity, and long-term dedication. At Arcobonsai, this philosophy comes to life through displays of miniature trees, live demonstrations by great masters, and conferences on Japanese aesthetics. You don't need to be an expert to be fascinated: walking among the exhibited plants, some tended for decades, is an experience that speaks to everyone.
The event venues
The heart of the event is the Municipal Casino of Arco, with its halls and elegant surrounding gardens, complemented by the Palatennis. The exhibitions and the market also extend into Piazza Segantini, Piazza delle Canoniche, and along the Viale delle Palme and Viale delle Magnolie, involving the entire historic center of the Garda town.
Arcofiori, the flower and nursery market
Running concurrently with Arcobonsai is Arcofiori, a flower and nursery market featuring local products that colors the streets of Arco. Exhibitors and nurserymen offer plants, flowers, and local produce in a journey that combines the art of bonsai with floriculture and Trentino gastronomy.
The UBI Congress and competitions
Arcobonsai is traditionally the setting for the national Congress of the UBI – Italian Bonsai Association, the organization that represents Italian bonsai worldwide. Alongside the congress, the Arcobonsai Trophy for instructors and the Italian Talent contest, which rewards the new stars of the national bonsai scene, take place.
An event to experience
With demonstrations, conferences, orchid shows, tastings, and a large specialized market that attracts collectors and enthusiasts from all over Italy and abroad, Arcobonsai is much more than a fair: it is the spring festival of Arco and Garda Trentino, capable of attracting thousands of visitors in a single weekend.
Arcobonsai — edition 2026
The 40th edition of Arcobonsai, combined with the 27th edition of Arcofiori, took place from April 24 to 26, 2026, between the Municipal Casino, its gardens, the Palatennis, and the historic center of Arco. A special edition that celebrated forty years of the event by hosting the 29th UBI Congress – Italian Bonsai Association, with the participation of over 300 delegates.
The program brought together some of the most appreciated Italian and international demonstrators and featured the XXIV Arcobonsai Trophy for instructors and the Italian Talent 2026 selection. Alongside the bonsai and suiseki exhibitions, there was also space for the orchid show and the large specialized market with over sixty exhibitors.

How to get there
Arco is located in Garda Trentino, in the Province of Trento. By car: A22 Brenner motorway, exit Rovereto Sud/Lago di Garda Nord, then SS240 towards Riva del Garda/Arco. By train: Rovereto station on the Verona-Brenner line, with bus connections to Arco.

Admission and hours
Exhibition entry is paid (approximate ticket price of 3 euros for the exhibition only, available on-site without reservation). Exhibitions and market open in the morning during the weekend. Participation in the conference program requires registration for the congress.
