The apple as a symbol of rebirth
The Apple Festival of Castel del Giudice, a village in Alto Molise in the province of Isernia, is much more than a local fair: it is the celebration of the product that marked the rebirth of a village of a few hundred inhabitants. On the once abandoned land, the Ancient Apple Orchard was created, the heart of the regeneration project linked to the Borgotufi scattered hotel.
Two days of taste and nature
The event takes place in autumn, usually in October, and offers a packed program: a market with organic and artisanal producers with over forty exhibitors, tastings of ancient apple varieties, guided tours of the orchard, the Malto Lento brewery, and the Community Apiary. There is also show cooking, live music, workshops, traditional games, and street food.

The Apple Festival is accompanied by conferences dedicated to the circular bioeconomy and the regeneration of the Apennines, testifying to a vision that combines gastronomy, environment, and development of inland areas. Admission is free.

- Saturday — morning conference (e.g., "Circular Bioeconomy to Regenerate the Apennines") in the Borgotufi conference room; guided tours of the Ancient Apple Orchard, the Malto Lento brewery, and the Community Apiary; in the afternoon, activities in Piazza Marconi
- Sunday — producers' market and traditional games from 10:00 AM; show cooking in Piazza Municipio with chefs from the Mia restaurant of Borgotufi
- For both days: tastings of ancient apples, live music, street food, workshops
