Christmas in the village of Colledimezzo

The Christmas Markets in Colledimezzo are one of the most anticipated winter events in the municipality, a small village in the Province of Chieti, Abruzzo. Nestled between the twin hills of Monte Butino and Monte Rinello, the town overlooks the waters of Lake Bomba, the reservoir created by the dam on the Sangro river: a setting that, during the holidays, dresses up with lights, decorations, and a festive atmosphere.

A Christmas village among the squares

For an entire day, the historic center comes alive with stalls featuring handicrafts, hobbies, local products, and street food, set up in the village squares. The initiative, promoted by the Pro Loco Colledimezzo, aims to showcase artisanal crafts and local flavors, offering visitors the chance to discover the town in one of its most evocative settings.

Tradition, music, and community

In past editions, the program has included a guided tour starting from Piazza Vizioli and musical moments, such as the gospel choir hosted at the Church of San Rocco. The event maintains a strong sense of community and hospitality, typical of Abruzzo's Pro Loco associations, and is part of the calendar of events that the association dedicates to the village throughout the year, from Castagne&Vino to the San Biagio Fair.

A village to discover even in winter

A tourist destination appreciated mainly in summer for the lake, fishing, and water sports, Colledimezzo reveals its most intimate side in winter. The D'Avalos Castle and the narrow streets of the historic center frame the markets, inviting visitors to a slow stroll through crafts, gastronomy, and scenery in one of the most characteristic villages of the Sangro valley.
