Zero-impact high-altitude concert in the Gran Paradiso National Park
Apolide Drops is the satellite format of the historic Apolide experience, a widespread cultural festival in the Canavese area built around three keywords: sustainability, territory, and respect for the environment. The Valprato Soana stage, in a small municipality within the Metropolitan City of Turin in Piedmont, belongs to the ARIA section, dedicated to high-altitude events in natural settings. Here, music is not heard in an amphitheater, but at 1,650 meters above sea level, at Pian dell'Azaria, inside the Gran Paradiso National Park.
Pian dell'Azaria is accessible exclusively on foot: you can hike independently or join the guided trek organized in collaboration with the Consorzio Forestale del Canavese. The walk is not just a transfer, but an integral part of the experience: along the path, a sound excursion is planned with special microphones and headphones to listen to the sounds of nature, accompanied by environmental guides and a dedicated sound engineer. It is Apolide's way of turning the journey into a listening experience, and the wait for the concert into a discovery of the Soana landscape.
The heart of the day is the acoustic set by I Ministri, one of the most recognizable bands in Italian independent rock. The concert is accompanied by a dialogue session, Between Music and Words, a discussion with the band that delves into the story of the region and the meaning of performing in such a place. To complete the day, food and wine offerings from local producers and the Giovani Vignaioli Canavesani allow visitors to discover the flavors of the Canavese at altitude.
The event is part of a broader project to enhance the Canavese valleys, supported by the GAL Valli del Canavese and a network of public and private partners. The zero-impact philosophy is not just a slogan: the travel arrangements, the choice of locations, and the collaboration with the Gran Paradiso National Park aim to make culture and the environment coexist without forcing nature. For those visiting the Province of Turin, Apolide Drops in Valprato Soana is a rare opportunity to experience a concert as a mountain adventure.
Pian dell'Azaria can only be reached on foot, starting from the Valprato Soana (TO) area. You can hike on your own or book the guided trek with the Consorzio Forestale del Canavese. We recommend high-altitude appropriate hiking clothing and footwear (1,650 m).
The day is free to attend, but booking is mandatory: spots are limited and guided experiences must be reserved in advance on the official website. Reservations and the full program are available at tolocals.com/apolide-drops.
On-site, there are food and wine stands featuring products from local operators and the Giovani Vignaioli Canavesani.
