Antichi Organi, patrimonio d'Europa – Tronzano Lago Maggiore

A season that makes the historic organs of Varesotto resonate

The "Antichi Organi, patrimonio d'Europa" series is one of the longest-running concert seasons in the province of Varese: every year it offers dozens of concerts that, between July and October, showcase the historic organs in the churches of the area. Promoted by the Associazione Antichi Organi Varese, the series brings great organ music to dozens of municipalities, rediscovering valuable instruments that are often little known.

The Ferragosto concert in Tronzano

Among the stops on the series is Tronzano Lago Maggiore, a small town overlooking Lake Maggiore, where the concert is traditionally held around August 15th in the Parish Church of San Rocco – not by chance the town's patron saint, celebrated on August 16th. In recent years, internationally renowned organists, from Alessandro Passuello to Torsten Laux, have performed on the church's historic organ, offering the audience evenings of high artistic quality.

Music and heritage, with free admission

The concert is free admission, in the spirit of the series which aims to bring the public closer to European organ heritage. For those spending the summer on the shores of Lake Maggiore, the Tronzano event is a precious opportunity to combine the beauty of the lake landscape with the charm of ancient music, in one of the most evocative churches in the area. The final program is announced close to the season by the Associazione Antichi Organi Varese.
